A USA based supporter, I enjoyed a rarish visit to St. Mary’s. Enjoyable overall experience, but the football offered up seemed to be about par for the course this year. Swansea barely threatened - their no. 27 was one of the few threats. We looked solid as a defensive unit with Wood continuing to enhance his standing. Great spell towards the end of the first half when we could/should have been at least two up. Scienza and Jander look very good at this level and Fellows pace and directedness were a factor in tge second half. Arma never stopped working. But we didn’t score! Missed two rebounds that should have been dispatched. We still haven’t got it right in the final third. Mid table performance st the end of the day,

Oh dear. Same again. Controlled the game but just couldn't score. Lost our way again in the second half as at Derby. Midfield poor. Have the ball away time after time. Not sure where we go from here.

Are the management so dim that they cannot see what we supporters have been saying for three years? We need a goal scoring centre forward. Downs is not even considered, Archer should not be at the club and Armstrong is way past his sell bye date. There was some good football at times, but miss after miss has seen us slipping way too far below the top teams. Promotion? More chance of Totton FC playing in the champions league next season. We do have some good players, but quality is lacking in several areas. The passing was variable, McCarthy almost did one of his trademark kicks to an opposition player and Edwards was caught out too many times. Ah well, we can still dream of winning at home.

Rinse and repeat. Still no sign of an identity, forgive the pun. And despite sone great runs from Scienza and a non-goal from Jander, that was harder to miss than score, i didn't walk away feeling we were particularly unlucky or we were robbed. Second half geeky like we could play all day and still not score.
And it feels at this point that Still, is the barrier to improvement. Why oh why are we still playing 3 centre backs?!? Why, when Jelert was so effective, have wet not seen him get much game time or a start? Why did Still take off both our Full backs, who were so effective, yet left all 3 ineffectice ventre back on the pitch???
Our attack is generally so slow and ponderous. And so many of our players jist ball watch.
its not good enough. We are too risk averse and have no real game plan. And it's still prerry boring to watch.
Despite saying some stuff that makes sense, Stills words hsve no bearing on his actions. The player tombola will roll again for the next match and we will still be directionless and umable to threaten opppsition teams

While I'm not clear why you start 5 at the back against Swansea, not too sure what Still can do if loads of players can't hit the target from a yard out.

A point isn't disastrous but we really needed a win.

Scienza played some absolute filth and great to see Robinson being given some minutes.

We played well all over the pitch except in front of goal The performance was so much better than the result and I believe we have seen a team today Not just a bunch of players.
Alex never had a real shot to save.I don't much like a back five but Wellington and Jelert looked like real wing backs Unfortunately Jelert could now be out for a few week The three centre backs complimented each other but THB is still not playing forward quickly enough Wood looks like the organiser we have needed
Charles and Jander continue to be a reliable pairing but Scienza just stole the show He performed better than Fernandez and looks the real deal
If only our forward line had a better conversion rate.If we start converting just the clear chances somebody is going to get a thumping

Admittedly, though I had high hopes for this match, I also wasn't holding my breath, because the autumn international breaks don't do the club matches immediately following them any favors. Too often it feels like everyone's back at square one upon returning to the office, and part of me can't blame the players. (I honestly don't know how players can be expected to perform after having traveled halfway around the world for five days of traning/playing for another team, or spending a sleepy week at Staplewood playing table tennis.) Unfortunately for me, the economic bubble that is the international game shows no signs of bursting anytime soon. Until then, I'm afraid I'm likely to give each post-international-break match a miss. :-(

Sports Republic are a lower league multi club owning organisation. Whilst they are in charge the best we can hope for is mid table championship. Not the end of the world but their business model isn't capable of delivering sustainable top flight football.
