Premier League Question 12:49 - Jun 1 with 3160 viewsTVOS1907

Following on from the post about ex-Dale players appearing in the Premier League, here's another one.

Six players with a Rochdale connection appeared in the first-ever round of PL fixtures on 15/16/17 August 1992.

Name them.

Answers:

Andy Barlow (Oldham)
Earl Barrett (Aston Villa) - born in Rochdale
Ian Bryson (Sheffield United)
Richard Jobson (Oldham)
Geoff Thomas (Crystal Palace)
Andy Turner (Tottenham)

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Does Ian Bryson count? Unused sub for the Blades...

He does as he came on for Glyn Hodges, according to Rothmans Football Yearbook.

Norton's not one of them.

Hoyland was with Sheff Utd, but didn't play on the opening weekend.

Aye, Mark O'Connor. Think he played for the likes of Gillingham and Bournemouth too, but he's not the final answer.
