Yeovil might be in the doldrums after losing to HH yesterday, but they've won three of their last four league games. Agree, though, I'd expect a totally different game to yesterday. [Post edited 12 Oct 12:30]

That's a typo. The 7 subs were those you've listed. East, Barlow and Rodney went off in the 69th minute, replaced by Smith, McBride and Amantchi. In the 81st minute, TAR and Mani went off, replaced by Moss and Gomez-Mancini. Burger and Pettit weren't used. |

While it is true to say we should shoot more at times, saying they are encouraged not to is pure speculation. Take East's effort that just scraped past the posts shortly before half-time, for example. [Post edited 12 Oct 10:48]

He probably saw the daft tweet at half-time from this site's X account. [Post edited 12 Oct 10:33]

Yes, I'd agree with that. To me it looked like both sets of players didn't want to be playing each other. Probably a misconception, but that was my impression. I imagine we'll see a different game in the league next month. Might be time to do some more ground-hopping on first round day! |

It doesn't; we are entitled to have two goalkeepers in the matchday squad, but one of ours is on international duty, so we can bring in an emergency loan. |

At the time of the Arsenal tie, Lincoln were six points clear (and that courtesy of a midweek win at Braintree), so they weren't exactly romping away with the league at that point. They finished top on 99 points, while second-placed Tranmere had 95. The next three clubs had 86, 84 and 82, so in all fairness, it seemed to be a closer and more challenging season at the top end of the table than last season was, for example. |

That's how I read it. There appeared to be an implication in your post that the replay wasn't lucrative. The replay was part of the whole tie. I'd be interested to know who told you otherwise. Apologies if I misinterpreted your words. |

DaleiLama indirectly referenced the Spurs tie as a whole in a previous post. I was extending that after your post about Wembley seemed to imply we made nowt, or certainly next to nowt. Who told you? [Post edited 9 Oct 15:09]

Every penny we received was a penny we didn't have before the tie. (Which included two games, both broadcast live on TV). I'm not sure why you're trying to denigrate it. [Post edited 9 Oct 14:12]

But by the same token, promotion might not happen, whatever team we put out on Saturday. I do get what you're saying and I think there will be some team changes (some enforced, some by choice), but I'm still of the opinion that the FA Cup isn't going to impact greatly on our league season given how soon into the campaign we are playing in it and the fact that very few non-league teams progress beyond December. I just hope the game is settled on Saturday, as a replay will be something neither club wants. I think the FA Trophy might be the competition we don't take 'seriously', but that's just conjecture on my part. [Post edited 9 Oct 11:57]

That was Spurs' problem. We would still have had our 45% cut of the gate receipts, plus the TV fee, as the game was shown live. Same for the home game, as well as all the extra income that day on merchandise, sponsorship, hospitality, etc. As DL pointed out, it was vital income and still will be. |
