Couldn't agree more. Our board are happy to just take whatever GMP throw at them, as if GMP had some sort of wise head about all this, when we know even their commanders are thick as two short planks. What'd happen if we challenged their decisions? Are they going to have the game cancelled, and spoil their cash-cow? Are they f*ck.

One way to raise money to make up for revenue cuts. Football will be used more and more as a cash cow for the police services.

From what I saw last year, the police could have done the job with a quarter of the numbers they had, and even then they did not do their job properly.

My plea to those that might want a fight. Please do it away from the grounds and away from any populated areas.

Hey, Daleys - we're just as tinpot as you and our club can't do right for wrong either!
See you tomorrow for your annual thrashing - hopefully without the nobheads.

Annual thrashing?

You've won once in the last three league meetings at Spotland!

Even Michael Symes scored a hat-trick against you.

No, but they could order an 11 am kick-off time or impose some other equally ridiculous idea. Common sense went out of fashion many years ago.

Their Commanders are largely inept, frightened of their own shadows and have only ever seen an angry man on a TV screen. God forbid that they ever have to step into the open air.

I don't see how being an all ticket game can stop trouble anyway. You are just saying to the trouble causers buy your ticket earlier. They will still be there to cause trouble on the day. The only advantage I can see is the number of ticket sales telling the club how many to expect, so they can bring in the right number of stewards. If they tell the head steward we have sold XXXX tickets so far, and another XXXX will be put on sale on the day, he can still get an idea of the size of the crowd and steward it accordingly.

Personally, I have always thought that football should have some sort of ID card. Then when it's an all ticket game, your ID card gets scanned, and if there is any trouble, the club can print out a list of names and addresses of everyone sat in that area from their ID cards.

So I get a 6am knock on the door from GMP just because the idiot next to me can't behave himself?
The Tories tried ID cards in the late eighties. It was a miserable failure for so many different reasons.

Rather that, than seeing hooligans getting away with it because they can't be traced. You've only got to look at the number of stewards on a match day. If there was less trouble, and fewer stewards, that money could be spent on the playing squad instead.

They were shocking last year, seemed to want to cause problems to justify their presence.
Modern football is toss I remember going to Rotherham we had 1000 there they had the same police presence there was the same as 4000 Leeds fans there the week before, baffling. The standard escort to the ground we get at Dale is of the one of the reasons why I didn't bother today- the other being we're toss and negative as fook.

The majority of football fans and clubs have progressed and football hooliganism is old hat. It's boring and to be honest a bit embarrassing, knuckle draggers with contorted, ugly faces. There was a Latics fan yesterday with his shirt off, he looked like he had just walked out of a Cambodian refugee camp, a rag pudding would have killed the lad. You would have thought his mates would have quietly said 'Put your shirt back on pal',but they didn't. Charles Hawtrey had more meat on him.

Regarding your football team, the real surprise was our inept performance because it's the poorest Latics team i have ever seen and that's not sour grapes. I can excuse my team because a few days earlier against Coventry we played some wonderful stuff, I know what we are capable of.

Latics are in a relegation battle, in forty years of watching football at Spotland I can't remember the opposition not having one shot on target, we could have literally played without a goalkeeper yesterday!!

Embarrassing stuff. SIck of watching a side set up with an absolute fear to lose. So negative it's untrue. The only recent blip was the run at the start of last season which people even I thought we might threaten to do something for once- hence the large following last season. But I n true Latics style we collapsed and trying to sign a certain ex Sheffield United striker was the start of our downfall- if I remember rightly the rumours of our interest in Evans was reported after our win at your place.

The club lacks any ambition or direction it's a sad state of affairs. Hopefully this new stand helps us improve. The piss poor managerial appointment in the summer wasted our pre season and the chance to build on a squad that for once did not lose thr core of its squad I thought continuity would help us this season but decisions by the board just shoot ourselves in the foot time and time again. Just helps to frustrate an already dwindling fan base.

On the idiots sadly the bigger the following the bigger the percentage of clowns it brings with it.

What a fookin depressing post 😂

Depressing is spending half a life time wallowing in league two, it effects you in a bad way. We will always suffer with bad crowds, we always have, but thank god we have been blessed with some great custodians of the club. Chairmen who are dyed in the wool Dale fans who cherish the Football Club like a family member.....thats like gold dust to a lower league Football Club.

Be careful what you wish for mate, league two is miles worse. Having said that, maybe a relegation and a promotion charge in league two will re invigorate Latics.

Teams like Rochdale and bury have now moved ahead of Oldham and in all fairness Oldhams home support is also one of tbe lowest in the league. Bearing in mind your Premiership and Championship days are relatively recent history, your crowds are abysmal. We've done nowt in 108 years so at least we have a excuse. Bringing 3000 fans to Rochdale is nearly the whole of your average home support so thats a good effort.

Keep the faith, but i think things could get worse for Latics before they get better.Oldham are like a sickly child, you think they might recover but they always pick up another ailment.

Not a chance relegation would be good. Look at trammere and Stockport 🙈

That's what I mean weve rotted for years clubs gone backwards. Bury won't last surely they can't sustain what they're paying out in wages?

Yes, the clocks ticking on bury and don't fall for their sob stories when it goes t*ts up. No doubt they will be out shaking their buckets for further handouts but give'em nowt!!

Admittedly, we have the smallest home attendance between the three clubs but the opposite side of the coin shows a club with very little debt and it's fair to say the most financially stable of all three. We can sleep easy in our beds at night in the knowledge we have paid our bills.

Total attendence 5,690

Oldham fans - 2,880

5,690 - 2,880 = 2810.

2,880 tends to be a bigger number in my experience.
