Do you think he was the driving force in bringing Leroy Fer in?

Do you think he wasnt the driving force behind bringing in Leroy fer?
If not is it because it doesnt fit with your pre-conceptions?

Ok Jackanapes... I get where your coming from, so here's what's worrying me.
If we give Guidolin next season to prove himself, we could be sunk without trace.
He's signed Palloschi for £8million and preferred Gomis yesterday.
I think he's too big a risk...can we recover from yet another batch of duff signings next season?
There is little encouragement I can take from anything he's brought to the table so far.
Curtis on the other hand seems to be the steadying influence these last few games.

It's just the internet, init.

I would personally pass on Guidolin on the limited amount we have seen from him and his assistants so far. We look a more confident side under Curtis and tactically a bit of a shambles under the Italian.

I understand the necessity for a defensive game plan, but this is not Serie A and we do not have the players for it. It feels like we made our lives more difficult by moving backwards when we could have gone forwards, shown a bit more nouse and played to our strengths.

Give me Rodgers any day. One thing he will do is bring confidence to the squad and that will improve us no end.

"Michu, Britton and Williams could have won 3-0 on their own. They wouldn't have required a keeper."

We've spent most of the last two years moving backwards when we could move forwards. That is not a trait exclusive to Guidolin.

Laudrup signed Bony for 12m quid and preffered Michu for four fking months.

Rodgers in - job done.

We won't finish anywhere near the relegation places if we appoint him next season. As long as Huw doesn't feck about all summer and leave it until a fortnight before to appoint him.

Would be great if a week after the final game of the season it is all done and dusted and Brendan can start working on bringing people in. We don't know what is happening behind the scenes with Huw and Brendan so he could well be doing some research on this as we speak.

We were a side under transition in Monk, but individual players seem to have covered up the holes in it all. Imo, there was never anything wrong with how we were set up before Monk tried changing it all, just a plan B was required when teams learned that parking the bus made itdifficult for us to break them down due to lack of a clue.

Monks diamond was ideal and effective in certain situations, albeit at home against average sides was not it. Away from home against good teams , then it was and is effective at grinding our results.

Sadly the grinding out and defensiveness is now our default mindset instead of the plan B and thats what we will now go with unless somoebody comes in and changes it all over again.

Probably the agenda is Guido will save us from relegation, gets a £1M pay off bonus and is off back to Italy,Brendan is apptd our new Manager with his trusted side kick Pascoe as his No2,Curt is back to setting up the cones before our home games and doing the team breakdown on the big screen. On the playing side Brendan as part of his come back terms is given a transfer Budget inc.wages of £100M plus any transfer fees for those on the out bus and, back come Bony and Joe Allen as the first signings in addition to Dyer returning from Leicester.Because of the summer European Championships May/June will be the busy months for even more comings and goings.

Its so sad trying to talk to folks like you. I have never said hes the right guy to take us forward ANYWHERE. I just havent written him off yet because there isnt enough information to do so.

That might just have had something to do with Muchu's 18 goals the previous season.
Laudrup finished off Michu's top level career by playing him while injured (on top of the long term ankle problems).

He hasn't managed in the premier league before. Being an attack minded manager in Italy doesn't quite cut it for me i'm afraid. But hey, if your happy with him not being as tactically aware as someone who has never had a permanent position as a manager before at the age of 63, then you crack on.

*disclaimer: I am not advocating Curt as our next manager.

Guardiola also hasn't managed in the Premier League.

IMO Swansea have missed Ayew and Routledge badly. Both of them are able to win the ball and are willing to apply themselves defensively and are essential to Swansea's possession game.

That is because before Bony got his own personal "physical preparator" from France, he was moving at about the speed of molasses and had the agility of same.

Bony was only starting to show his quality in the Manchester City fixture, and showed very little before that.

Four goals in his first four games. Ten goals in his first eighteen. Despite being in and out of the side as Laudrup preferred playing Michu out of position.

I should just keep this and copy/paste it in every time someone pretends that Wilf wasn't scoring prolifically basically from the first time he laced his boots up for us.

Didn't say he wasn't scoring, but against inferior opposition in Europa League qualifying matches, it wouldn't be very difficult for someone of his ability.

The problem was that his body took time to gain the fitness needed to play in the way Laudrup needed.

Scoring better than a goal every other game is a strange example of very little.

Inferior opposition like Valencia? Yes, a number (but not all) of them came in Europe. Seeing as they were usually the only games Laudrup would let him start in due to his Michu fixation that's hardly surprising. As the mighty FearofaJackPlanet said at the time, "he's getting Bony match fit by, er, not playing him in any matches".

I don't disagree that he kicked on to another level entirely post Christmas, but the myth that he contributed little prior to that just doesn't stand up to any kind of scrutiny. He started very well, then became outstanding. Might have done it a lot sooner had ML handled him better.

I was talking about his first four goals. Three of them came against Malmö and Petrolul Ploiești, matches Swansea won handily by scores of 4-0 and 5-1 respectively. The Valencia match wasn't until the latter half of September.

If anyone thinks Bony had good enough conditioning to regularly play fast-paced Premier League matches from the beginning of the season, I have to question their perceptions. Bony was plodding along for the first few months, and he clearly needed to improve his fitness, which is why I presume he hired his own personal trainer.
