As far as I am aware, it has been confirmed that China's first case was on 1st December 2019 so its almost certain that there were cases in other countries before they even knew about Covid-19 and their timeliness will need to be reviewed and amended. As things currently stand, the 2nd country to confirm a case was Thailand on 13th January 2020 but as this virus is so infectious, it's hard to believe it took a full 6 weeks to appear anywhere else.

Surely no one is shocked by this? The Chinese have been trying to cover this up since way before Christmas. It’s arose around November time alleg, slowly the Chinese student population spread it all over the world.

It was definitely widespread before any one knew. Or at least, anyone outside China knew.

When you look at the French case, firstly he would have caught it at least a week earlier, probably more before being in hospital. Also he hadn’t traveled anywhere, so there was community transmission in France at that point (mid December at the latest). And he must have been one of many (as the stars show most are mild and don’t get near hospital).

So it’s been in France (and for France, read here as well) since early December at the latest. There was a very early outbreak in Austria that they think led to Italy as well. This may have been around for a couple of months before any one was alerted. Which tallies with what’s been seen. Countries that are very connected have suffered, particularly related to population density. Those countries that are not connected, or have spread out populations, are finding it easier.

Of course it was, because China tried to play the "it's just flu or pneumonia card" while they bought PPE form all over the world.
They were still denying it was passed person to person later than that.
The WHO ignored Taiwan when they told them that it was.
