How fcking dare sky or anyone even remotely claim our club is racist. I'm fcking fuming.
Our club has done more than most to stamp out racism from the game. Our stadium is named after a black lad, most if not all of our accademy coaches are black, our community team are second to none in the game.

Do you honestly believe it was her that flagged this up? Behave, it's someone upstairs at Sky. That's why every two-minute highlights package they did after the lockdown began with "both teams took a knee".

They did a bit on not taking the knee. The Sky reporter on the ground claimed it was QPR's decision. Mark Robbins tried to throw QPR under the bus claiming "we wanted to", Warburton told the reporter "we fight discrimination at every level and to suggest anything else is ludicrous".

They made a big deal about us not taking the knee Brian at today's game and at last week's game against Forest. The implication was that we were somehow implying that we were not aligned with BLM. The pundit, Jobi McAnuff said how disappointed he was as if it showed we were a racist club.
It was the usual sloppy journalism with no balance about how we are unusual in the number of senior black coaches, DOF, BAME owners as well as players in our club. I would imagine Les will be steaming, given the number of interviews he has done about the lack of black people in football management.

Qpr have taken positive action rather than hollow, PR-driven gestures. We have more black coaches than the rest of the EFL put together. We have a black DOF, black academy director, we’ve given opportunities to black teenagers booted out of other academies. We have a diverse fan base. We have a best in class community department in a diverse part of London. We were front and centre of doing useful stuff for Grenfell while white powerful people were wiping their fcking lap tops.
Sorry if we don’t think your easily packaged and televised gesture should go on indefinitely, but when you’ve done as much as we have then you can come for us.

If another team decided not to, I would be curious as to whay. So I'm curious as to why we haven't. But with our excellent track record I presume that there is a reason for it and will wait to hear more and to learn more. | |
