Signed for Hemel Hempstead Town who play in the National League South and I think are managed by Marc Bircham's brother;

I remember being at Newport County for a wet pre-season friendly and thinking he looked good. Seem to remember some attitude queries before he was sold to Barnsley. Seems to have not played much at an awful lot of teams;

Still waiting on Michael Petrasso to come good

He (and Alvin Bubb) were 10 -15 years ahead of their time. Both 5 ft 5, if I recall. No. 10 material these days but back then too small.

Believe that quote if you want to, some did because we got around £500k for him for 6/7 appearances!!!....I don't one little bit. He was sold, imho because he was very average player, no good QPR saying he is average if you want to sell him or say he is shite after you have sold him.

And I have thought that since I posted very early in this thread.

Why would Les take the time to say he was a talented player after he was sold if it wasn’t true? Especially to people like me who thought it was a bad deal at the time?

On top of two managers and a director of football who gave him Premiership appearances, England management would have also have had to have assessed him wrong.

Apologies gaz, I’ll go with my own eyes and the experts.

ye

Fairly sure he's a hip hop mogul rather than a football player, but we've probably had worse players pull on the rangers shirt.

I don't know why Sir Les would say that......perhaps he was a good friend of the player & family and wanted to give him a good send of - it happens. Perhaps, he was trying to cover his 'arse' in case he went on to play for England!!!! But I would suggest that Sir Les knew 'the score' just like I saw - he was pretty average and he certainly was and hence why he has done 'not a lot'. £500k was a good deal, for sure.

As for the England managers, anybody gets picked for those levels. Players play a game or two and never seen again.

No issues with you having your opinion but I saw enough of him to know he was a limited footballer, it wasn't difficult.

I'm not sure why this thread has been resurrected after four years!

He left Hemel in 2022 & has just joined Bedford Town after making 11 appearances for Oxford City last season.

Iffy account pulled it up that Clive has already deleted.

I won’t let that fact stop me arguing with a total stranger though!
