According to Wikipedia AFCON 2023 is actually going to be played in 2024 so as not to clash with the World Cup (who's going to send their best players from the WC directly to the AFCON, it would cause uproar). The weather in the host country, Ivory Coast, does not suit a June/July tournament, hence Jan 24. |  | | |
