We already have enough civil rights activists I my judgement. People generally do not give up the Muslim faith due to perceived repercussions.

Sharmima Begum is looking looking forward to seeing the White Cliff of Dover now too .
Sometimes I despair at religion worldwide , what a mess we are in with cultures and their erhics and teachings .
Sunday School in the Village Churh Hall dabbing paint on paper that afternoon was fun .
Beheading people and filming it as the norm , we really are at the pits of humanity .
The main problems are cause by theiving land grabbers. Russia and Israel. The other trouble are civil wars and religious fanatics.
Muslims might not like their religion but cannot notionally convert without consequences. This is not in keeping with our culture. All British Muslims should be allowed to convert without worry.

We get continuous coverage of Ukraine and Gaza, but if you look wider there are so many, over 110, armed conflicts across the World today. I often wonder why the continued conflict in Congo which has seen over 6 million people lose their lives, more than the second World War gets no coverage.

Possibly because there's nothing there of interest to Western governments or maybe becaue it's because its been going on so long the news outlets lost interest. We don't see Ukraine OR Gaza on the news so much anymore.

Good points and I think that the way that news is pumped into our devices these days that examining the context for subjects and asking who is showing me this and why am I being shown this are increasingly important.
Of course, news is now a business clicks and page views are the measures of success, no matter how you get our attention.

Absolutely, it's all about the bottom line, money. It's all people like Murdoch and the other rich media owners care about.
They feed us what they want us to know, don't report the full facts, hiding what they don't want us to know and cooperate with governments to keep the masses in the dark. Social media has done a lot of uncovering but also a lot of conspiracy nonsense, just what is the truth these days.
Lets face it, you can try and spread a truth and if the powers that be don't like it they just prevent you, you get cancelled (which means silenced) and they put out their own version. Even the good old BBC spins our news for their own reasons.
