The cost of government work is ridiculous.
at 19:28 2 Sep 2025

The BBC today reported on Richard Tice s (Reform) plans to reduce wasteful spending. He quote the 20mph in urban area which we do not have many.

The BBC said this.

"Tice's 20mph speed limit pledge as an idea to save money will raise eyebrows, particularly with councils that have spent money reverting 20mph in some areas to 30. Replacing or installing signage, for example, is not free.

Just last year the Welsh government earmarked £5m to help revert the limit in some areas"

FIVE MILLION for one digit on a sign? Why not use the old ones after a brush up.? How many are there 2500?

£2000 per sign. Nice work if you can get it. It should be put out to tender. No project management . They gave a spreadsheet with coordinates and the old signs in storage.

Better of course to leave it at 20mph. If there are no camera drivers will use common sense in the main.

Sad to see prospects leave
at 21:26 29 Aug 2025

https://www.swanseacity.com/news/aimar-govea-signs-first-professional-contract-s

Govea and Wilson backed up by Cotterill put Huddersfield u21 through the ringer. All have first team exposure.

Govea time at the club may be over sadly if reports are accurate. Presumably Girona need to avoid relegation which will not be easy.

No fan can complain about transfers and there may still be a shock exit. Govea looked electric recently and may have a higher ceiling than Ronald in the long term..

If the Category 1 is in the pipeline it must produce a continuous train of players. This allows for real talent like Govea to be sold to cover the costs of upto £5m annually. The sales of 2-3 players of £1-2m will do this. It is part of the process.

It could be Govea a Spanish speaker wanted to leave and Sheehan has stated the club will not stop players leaving or force them out.

It business I suppose. Still sad though. He could bomb if course and return. He only signed his first deal earlier this year.

Generational unemployment
at 11:03 27 Aug 2025

https://nation.cymru/news/nearly-half-the-working-age-population-of-one-district

This is v why the immigrants are accommodated in four star hotels.

Eluned supported the disability benefits reforms rebellion and at the same time stated we need migrants for things like the NHS.

Brexit was supposed to free up jobs but Brits do not want them. Eluned said Wales was disproportionately affected by the reforms due to our "post industrial heritage".

We now have "generational unemployment" all paid for by borrowing.

We need a leader ready to get people back to work not making excuses and telling foreigners we have plenty of jobs to do many in the untaxed sector.

Who speaks French at Swansea these days?
at 15:44 15 Aug 2025

Gomis and Andre Ayew were good mates and French speakers. Both spoke English too.

Mallick was speaking French in the website interview and will speak English pretty soon. Aguero and Tevez never learn English I read.

Will Malick have any French speakers to talk to. My O level would not suffice.

It could turn out that one of the players were fluent but we just did not know it. Vigoreaux perhaps? Where is he from.

I did not get excited at this very much and probably have lowered my average speed while assessing the likelihood of a fine and points.

Besides o all that this guy has done a tremendous job of presenting the data. Graphs and data presentation of a very high order.

Are Swansea treading water ?
at 12:43 10 Aug 2025

Early indications are not good. The new players have not done enough in training to walk into a dull squad above the like Fulton and Cullen.

Exciting young talents like Parker Lissah and Wilson do not get a kick.

All these managers recently always have an excuse from Cooper to Sheehan. "I need a striker". Why sell Yates then?

Id f the club plays safety first dull football with average Joe's why not add Parker and Wilson and we can enjoy another mid table season but all r least see some development.

Cabango,Ollie Cooper and Cullen are in their mid twenties.

at 20:25 4 Aug 2025

No forward two sold one not really a no 9 and Kyrell Wilson raw and others even more raw.

What to do? Get a runner in. Pace eye for a goal available and cheap.

It has to be Jamal Lowe part 3.

This is the Resolven solution. A goal every 3 games over two spell.

Do British institutions work together for a common good?
at 15:37 28 Jul 2025

https://nation.cymru/news/plans-submitted-to-double-size-of-chicken-farm-to-6400

We have planning bodies The Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, Dwr Cymru, Severn Trent Water The Senedd.

As I understand it the River Wye has become biologically stressed from alkaline levels rising from bird guano. There are 60m chicken farmed along the Wye Valley.

One would have thought the bodies would work together during planning to limit these bird farms on the basis of pollution of our sacred water ways.

In this case Abermule is on the River Severn. Does anyone actually give a "flying guano"? .

The current objection is not the environment but road traffic matters.

The Wye Valley bird farms need to be relocated and proper guano management installed or mitigated.

We are paying a fortune for these bodies and they do not seem to care very much about our rivers.

A big test I expect English football to fail.
at 12:03 26 Jul 2025

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/jul/25/west-hams-lucas-paqueta-expecte

The EPL seems very soft on gambling. This is extremely worrying as the whole game is based on the games being legitimate. To be fair mid table teams usually give a decent account of themselves in games that count. This competitiveness must be preserved.

It is clear the spiv and crooks are around the game but there have not beeb many convictions. Bannings are usually for drugs and off field activities..

I have no faith in the EPL on this. I am still astonished the ex player got away with admitting it and continued in the media for some time.

Trump is an idiot and bad for the environment
at 15:31 24 Jul 2025

The Gulf of Mexico is heavily polluted from leaking old oil Riggs and the Deep Water horizon event.

There are hundreds possibly thousands of old rig leaking oil and particular gas. The oil men will never clean up after them and have cut and run. Trumps mates did real well.

https://www.usf.edu/marine-science/news/2020/oil-toxins-pervasive-in-gulf-of-mex

Now he is going after wind and solar power.

https://www.eenews.net/articles/trump-is-escalating-his-attacks-on-wind-solar/

They say the renewables are subsidised. But so is coal oil and gas because their subsidy is not having to clean up after them ..We see this in Merthyr.

In UK K there are no plans for the disposal of nuclear wastes. Germany and Sweden have built big shafts costing billions to dispose of nuclear waste.

King Charles pay rise. Where from?
at 14:19 24 Jul 2025

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna163379

The King is due to receive a $60m pay rise this year. This rise is mostly for increased profits at the Crown Estates and most of the profits are from off shore wind farms.

A large percentage of offshore wind farms are in offshore Wales. We citizens have to put up with the turbines and pylons and the King pockets the profits.

The Senedd asked for parity with Scotland on this I but it was declined. Many Welsh people do not want to control their assets and the money goes to the south east.

I read that the King took 25% of offshore wind fees. I read somewhere ha had agreed a reduction to half that Offshore wind fes for England and Wales could be £400m with Wales perhaps 25% of that.

The new owners have learned from the old owners and not made any pitch to the Swansea faithfull.

Levien and Kaplan did interviews and met with the Trust. It was a bad strategy. Fearing a bad reception for the fans they hardly ever showed up at the Liberty instead catching a few away games.

Silverstein came over and was very kind to the underperforming Trust and gave them £500k which they will turn into £400k in real terms in the next decade. He impressed me but was only given grudging credit by the fans.

Coleman breezed in talked the talk and lost a lot of money with Duff Williams and Watson. Watson looked as j if he was picked up from the job centre. He even apologised to some no name from the Swansea Trust breakaway group who objected to him sitting with an old workmate of his in a forum.

I hope the new guys make no effort whatsoever ever in buttering up the fans and the useless Trust other than creating a good exciting winning team.

They can then turn up at the stadium without concerns if results are not good.

Here is a summary of the DNA differences, I have never tested my DNA but i had reddish hair pale skin freckles and aptitude for rugby and singing. My linear families were all Welsh,
