York due to virtue of their points tally and the history of the City & its football team - I remember them knocking Man Utd of the League Cup as I looked at the score thinking someone on the teletext was having a wind up.
Sorry S****end, as far as I'm concerned they can enjoy their continued rivalry with Braintree Town... It made me laugh when they were singing "one team in Essex" - obviously they haven't looked at the EFL league table lately as we're the one team in Essex.
Obviously I've gone local (to me), but you can't argue on merit it should be York City. When you consider the points gap between York and Southend, in League 2 that would be the equivalent of Newport County having a shot at the play-offs against Walsall!

The way Walsall collapsed last season I think Newport would beat them tbh. I do see what you're saying though I think it would be more like Newport playing Notts County or AFC Wimbledon...
Whoever is promoted, it will be a return of an ex EFL team. We have had four seasons laughing at Southend, and I think it is finally time to renew the rivalry, and guarantee filling the stadium for at least one home game. Also if we are looking to get promoted next season, we would have a better chance playing a crap team like Southend, than a decent one like York.

And maybe they could be the first team to come up and go straight back down.

Sorry Mick but have to disagree
I want them to continue to whine how great their attendances are
