There's definitely a big increase in younger fans following EFL and non-league teams now, and it's brilliant. Of course social media is dominated by the usual United and Arsenal shite, but actual match going is much more for places like us. Modern football at the higher level is the worst it's ever been - you can't get a ticket on the day, Season Ticket lists are years long, and if you can get a seat it's £50 plus. There's VAR, shite atmospheres, methodical/boring play styles, no proper tackles/physicality and every game is on TV or streams anyway. Non-league / EFL is gonna be about £10-£20, you can always get a seat/stand, you can be with all your mates, the football is chaos and if it's local non-league you can mix with the players and feel like a proper part of the club / community. Why anybody on earth would choose to go to PL games at this point is beyond me, but then that suits the owners who would rather charge £300 a pop to some American tourist that will go via the club shop. The sooner City and the like fck off into a Super League, the better it'll be for everyone else. | |
