Saddlers fall at the final hutdle 17:01 - May 26 with 535 views | durham_exile | Wimbledon deservedly won the Play Off Final. Sadly we won't be able to sign Alistair Smith now.

Saddlers fall at the final hutdle on 17:37 - May 26 with 503 views | wessex_exile | I didn't see the game, taking Alfie back to Bristol after a surprise visit yesterday evening. Will Mat Sadler survive this? Plenty (most?) on the Walsall forum want him out now. So we've lost a reasonably local trip to Plough Lane next season, and possibly an outside chance of signing Alastair Smith, but I think Walsall will be a weaker side than AFCW if the result had gone the other way, so not all necessarily bad news.

That is good news, I thought the bar was closed?

I had the same thoughts. Wimbledon are the bigger club and have been competitive in this division for the last couple of seasons and I would've expected them to be up there again next season too. Plus we have a pretty terrible record against them as well. They won their last four matches 1-0 which tells you quite a lot about them.

The original bar owned by the brewery did close. Last season, we couldn’t get a beer anywhere, including from the adjacent hotel. However, the Walsall FC Community Trust took over and it is now a super facility that welcomes both home and away supporters. Eased the pain of the 4 - 0 thrashing.

Excellent - the early kick-off and a social event the night before put the kybosh on being there for the 4-0 drubbing, but usually a trip to the Bescot is one of the easier trips from here. Looking forward to giving it a go next season, providing the fixture computer plays nice.
