Hadn't seen a thread on this - looking forward to the Tests, I've been getting in the mood watching the various Living With Lions documentaries they've got on Sky that cover previous tours; just finished the 2001 one (felt Lions could have won that tour but possibly were undone by self-harm with the controversial press articles that came out from Dawson and Healey). On to the 2005 one, where BOD got taken out of the tour by that spear tackle in the first minute of the 1st Test

Also funny that everyone's talking about that, and not Sheehan's try which was outrageous that it stood. No point having the jumping the tackle law if a guy is allowed to superman over three tacklers going for the line

Haha yeah some odd decisions in the match but pleased the Lions came out the right side of them! More Italian refs please

There was a point around half an hour in where they looked ragged, missing tackles, etc. but somehow recovered and held on to reduce the deficit at half time. Cue a great second half with the bench really coming to the fore.

Once the series is won I still think it's hard to go again with the Aussies playing with a point to prove, but a whitewash would be lovely!

Aus' big problem is without Valentini and Sketlon, they have no physicality. Actually putting Genge, Ryan, Morgan on the bench was a masterstroke cos Lions were able to up the physicality just as Aud lost theirs.

Valentini was amaing though. He bounced Porter, Sheehan *and* Curry. Most players would never manage that in their careers, let alone in 40 minutes

Unless there is a subsequent ruling, I expect we'll see quite a bit of that this next domestic season. And I suppose it will spark a debate about how high you can be soaring over.
