Hilarious indictment of how badly rugby is run that almost a quarter of those clubs no longer exist |

I would say having pretty much the entire intake requiring 6-12 months to get up to speed was a pretty huge risk that almost backfired on us last season. YMMV |

If Watford hadn't taken their foot of the gas, it could've been anything they wanted it to be. Just my view |

haha. Neil. Cheat code in the champ. Not good enough for the prem |

Lampard is the new Warnock |
 | Forum Reply | Kone - too slow to go? at 11:37 7 Oct 2025
look, he's not even played 10 games for us yet so I don't quite want to be signing away his future just yet. But the Prem game is undergoing an evolution and direct is back. Kone's physicality, lay up play (very underrated part of his game imo) and shooting accuracy seem things that will high high stocks soon |

Not to be too into my own mythology, but I keep coming back to a post I made a couple of weeks ago that we don't have to hold binary opinions. Going back to last year, a lot of the changes to the youth set ups etc were overdue and all very positive. But there was a real lack of transparency, they absolutely botched recruitment , they alienated a manager who had really stopped the rot (there seems to be some revision on Marti now, but he had a Paal we'd tried to flog and Celar up front, as opposed to Research and Development and King Kone). Fast forward this year, things look pretty good rn. They massively changed tack on recruitment, so fair play. When the facts change, I change my mind etc. But a lot of our success has come after the 7-1 when a) we signed a lot of quality players (who incidentally look loads fitter than those that pre seasoned here) and b) the manager has changed formation away from what we've played the last few season to one he's had success with in the past. Those two facts seem related. But you don't judge a tree on a leaf. Realistically the only way we'll truly be able to judge the Nourry era is at the end, or if we have unprecedented success. For now with the window closed, I'm gonna try and just enjoy watching the team play and park having to think about the internecine psychodramas that seem to be endemic in the DNA of this club lol The main thing now is how we manage expectations. The season is still very early. At Oxford I had some young lads who spent the first half having a legit conversation about what they were gonna do when we won the league, and the second half slating the team. We've only played 4 teams in the top half, and 2 of them humiliated us. |

I saw One Battle After Another last week, and it's stayed with me ever since. One of the most exhilarting experiences I've ever had in the cinema. Went to see Urchin last night which was just the wrong side of too bleak for me. We left at the same time as OBAA and I heard American Girl coming out the speakers and felt so jealous. I need to see that car chase in IMAX |
 | Forum Reply | Scottish Rangers sack Martin at 14:17 6 Oct 2025
Look Martin is shit, but I saw a tiktok of Rangers fans being interviewed a couple of games ago outside the ground, and it was borderline blood chilling. It's just a game lads |
 | Forum Reply | Dembele at 22:16 4 Oct 2025
He has 21 starts for us. Maybe it will work out, maybe it won't. We definitely don't know which yet. But we seem to need to always be mad about someone lately |
 | Forum Reply | Oxford Utd Reflection at 09:33 2 Oct 2025
Expectations are going to be an interesting thing to manage. Last night I was surrounded by young lads with broccoli hair cuts who spent the whole first half, no word of a lie, discussing plans for what they were going to do when we won the league. Then spent the whole second half character assassinating our team. Strange what a few wins do. |

Look, we all know it's either gonna carry on being that, or a droning Koneeeeeeeeee. Just thought it would be fun to discuss |

Deserves better than a recycled Lyndon Dykes chant ffs Singing shitshouse striker when he's nutmegging lads and almost murdering the kids looking after the balls when he doesn't hit the target, he hits the ball so hard. Give me strength. Apply within, but that's gotta be knocked on the head asap. Partial to a Baron Bigod btw |
 | Forum Reply | Bircham isn’t happy at 11:44 22 Sep 2025
If we can't have a bit of fun with the players after a hard won home win, let's pack up and go home. I don't come to football to feel emotionally reserved |
 | Forum Reply | Dembele at 16:33 21 Sep 2025
It's a squad game, everyone will be needed in those 3 game weeks in winter. Personally could see Dembele replacing either Saito or Vale for tactical or load management reasons. The bigger worrier should be Chair. Not totally sure he fits in in a 442 |

It was when he won a defensive header about 30 years out, *and* absolutely left it on the Stoke lad that I was like hwfg |
