ex rochdale -Jili Buyabu 12:47 - Sep 3 with 1599 views | michaelmichael | Hi , curious about the following player who i believe played about 15 games for you last season. you may be aware-now down with 'us' -forest green equally on loan from sheffield united . interested in comments about him. reason i say is that he has (in short doses ) genuinely been sensational at fgr -real game changer. that given-he has only played about 2 halves of football and now injured for 6 weeks. i dont really get excited about 'speed merchants' but in fairness-from the little i have seen he has proper speed and unusually-an end product to match. supposedly a wing back -can he actually defend though-hasnt needed to so far,so have not seen that aspect is he consistently good-all seems a bit 'too good to be true ' normally if on loan at a NL club one season, the likes of sheffield united would want him to be with an efl club next season-but he is still in NL with fgr. that suggests to me that maybe first impressions are a bit false and he isnt perhaps the best thing since sliced Hovis after all ? what is the rochdale perspective after seeing him for 15 games. what would you regard as his best position am interested. thanks and good luck for your own season

Fantastic attitude and gelled with some of the younger element of the fanbase due to his enthusiasm and effort. I recall him losing the ball in midfield/attack on a few occasions, but he would then be the main player chasing back to rectify his mistake. Extremely lightweight, though, and therefore susceptible to injuries. This will probably prevent him succeeding at a higher level. He put over some excellent crosses from either flank, but primarily the left. Also took two good penalties for us in shoot-outs v Stockton (which was the winner) and Spennymoor.

He wasn't really with us for his defending, so it's difficult to answer.

Positives - He has pace and a wicked left footed cross.. whips fantastic balls across its a shame our other FGR player Kairo Mitchell hadnt the pace or intelligence to get on the end of them. I am told he is a great lad and he has a great engine. Negatives are subjective but in my eyes.. Lightweight and positionally naive.. He is not a defender and against the better sides he was a little short on something especially defensively if that helps. How are FGR looking I see (a bit like us) you have had some luck with who you played in your opening games (No perceived big gun) Solihull Moors 24th Yeovil 14th Sutton 20th Halifax 15th Eastleigh 9th Braintree 16th Morecambe 23rd Above does represent probably the "softest" start of the current top 7.

thanks for reply . as you say-unusually people go on about pace but final ball is rubbish. buyabu does seem to have that final ball delivery. have been more impressed with mitchell than i anticipated-not exceptional -but certainly as good as most . you are absolutely right about 'soft start 'but those teams will get points off the top 7 or 8 teams so just take the points. first proper test on saturday -Hartlepool at home .(they have only conceded one goal and that was an og ) and then scunthorpe . that all given-everyone knows the rules -fgr are good/top of league by mid december ,but they are not allowed to win games of football from mid december onwards and come tumbling down. anticipating the same this season. all the best yourselves [Post edited 3 Sep 22:36]
