Was the game plan to be better at football than us?

Correction: there were 3 debuts, not 4 as you say.

More importantly, the debuts were not the reason for the disjointed play. The only starter making his debut was Fellows and he was actually one of our better players. The next one didn't appear until the 74th minute. By then the pattern of the game had already been set and the other debut players made no difference to it.

The reason for the disjointed play was our gameplan (if we had one) which seemed to be to try and get long balls and crosses to Archer and hope he could out-muscle the defenders, which was obviously never going to happen.

As much as i hate to admit it, Nick i think you did Pompey a disservice. In the first half they were all over us. We were the long ball merchants.

I thought Baz looked really solid for once. He looked confident and took the pressure off the defence.

Poll: Has the Ross Stewart deal already paid off as Nick says?

I keep reading that we have got to integrate our new signings and its going to take time. How is it that Bournemouth lost all bar one of their back 5, yet hit the ground running?

Sundays starting line up contained 8 players from last season, playing a formation they practised in pre-season. The fact is every performance this season has been bad and had we not got a lucky win against Wrexham, the place would be in melt down.

Wills start is on par with Russell Martins.
