Week 9 results MANCHESTER CITY 5 BURNLEY 1 Erling Haaland scored twice late on and Maxime Esteve inadvertently scored two own goals to help City to a thumping victory. Everyone predicted a win for City, but nobody got it spot-on. NORTHAMPTON TOWN 2 BOLTON WANDERERS 0 Bolton lost for the first time since the opening day of the season, as Ex-U's Cameron McGeehan scored Northampton's first. Nobody had this spot-on, but 8 did get the outcome. STOCKPORT COUNTY 1 READING 1 Ex-U's loanee Jack Marriott cancelled out Kyle Wootton's opener as Reading came from behind to draw. Well done to unitedwhites for being the only one to have this spot-on, and only BFG got the outcome. 18 predicted a win for Stockport, with 9 going for a 2-1 in what was equally the weeks most predicted score. WIGAN ATHLETIC 0 CARDIFF CITY 2 Cardiff got back to winning ways in League One as Perry Ng's goal and a late Yousef Salech penalty gave them all three points, as Wigan have a mere one shot on target. Well done to gerry_us for being the only one to have this spot-on, and a further 15 got the outcome. ACCRINGTON STANLEY 1 WALSALL 3 Three second-half goals sent Walsall to the top of League Two with this win, which extended their unbeaten run to six games. Again nobody got this spot-on, though 16 did have the outcome. CHESTERFIELD 4 NEWPORT COUNTY 1 Newport's miserable run continued as they fell to a ninth loss in 10 games with this heavy defeat at Chesterfield, who scored with all their four shots on target. A final game this week with no 3 pointer, but 21 did get the outcome, with 9 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks other most predicted score. Sorry, but this has to have the Wow 😲 what an amazing week again. It is common for late goals in games putting a different complexion on results, but never in the same way as this week. After 83 minutes City were winning 3-1, Cardiff 1-0, Walsall 2-0, and Chesterfield 2-1. At that time those 4 results would have given us 28 spot-ons. Fast forward to the end, and with 7 goals in those 4 games, they produced no 3 pointers, only plenty of outcomes. That left us with just two 3 pointers from the other two fixtures, though the 84 total outcomes made sure of it incredibily being the second best 6 game week of the season so far. Not surprisingly the weeks top scores came from the two members who had those 3 pointers, with unitedwhites getting the honour of being the weeks top scorer, after he had four outcomes to go with the Stockport 1-1 spot-on, to give him a very decent 7 points. Only failing to get the Walsall win to give him a full house. Just missing out was gerry_us, who got three outcomes, to go with the Cardiff 2-0 spot-on, to give him a decent 6 points. A special mention for the four members who all had a good five outcomes. They were noah4x4, ghughes11 and oxfcolu, who all failed to have the Stockport draw to give them a full house, and BFG, who failed to get the Walsall win to give him a full house. In the Premier In a week that was all about outcomes, there was not going to be much change, and the only significant one came from unitedwhites, with his top scoring performance moving him three places to fifth, and into the top half for the first time this season. Three outcomes keep Sector4 top for the third week running, but his lead was cut by a point, as the good week for thrillseeker moved him up a place into the other Charity Shield spot. The highest he has been this season. The only other change had the good week for ghughes11 moving him up a place, although he remains in the bottom three, but only on the most 3 pointer rule. In Division One Much like the Premier, not a lot of change here either. The good week for noah4x4 kept him top for the third week running. The decent week for gerry_us moved him up a place into the other automatic spot, as he took advantage of a very unfortunate missed week from durham_exile. The good week for BFG moved him up a couple of places to third. Only outcomes for the rest of the league, and it remained unchanged from the previous week. What a difference those late goals made, with wessex_exile and oxfcolu both losing out in a big way.
