I refuse to believe that the £5m they spent on Matt Mills was wasted magnificent player, sort of...

Steve Kean. on 11:16 - Sep 19 by KevinPR | By that logic shouldn't Southampton and Liverpool be 'succeeding' a bit better than they are? |
No, because other Premiership teams have spent just as much and more, and they haven't dropped down from a league above the Premier League bringing players from that higher level with them. Blackburn have just spent £8m on a striker for goodness sake - I'd fancy myself to do alright in the Championship if I was allowed to do that. It's no guarantee of success but when the spending is that outlandish it doesn't half help. Plus I wouldn't be surprised to see them fck it up anyway because as far as I'm concerned Kean is a moron.

Well it depends on whose perspective you look at it from. From a Leicester perspective it was a waste, from everybody else's it was money well spent because, as I often say to you on the awaydays just before we spend a lot of money on something stupid, you can't put a price on comedy.
Steve Kean. on 11:23 - Sep 19 with 943 views | FFE | Well Said Norf. I'm amazed the stick some of you are giving to Blackburn fans on the way he treats Kean. Imagine if QPR had been managed by people like the Venky's? Before you say it, they are far more inept tha Tango and Cash. The bloke is a moron, and a 'face' for the Chicken farmers. Something is seriously wrong at Blackburn.

Steve Kean. on 11:25 - Sep 19 with 939 views | stuabd | They've done well from 6 games, but looking at the results they've won all their games except the Bristol one by one goal. Let's see how they're doing after 15 games.

They got most of that back as well from Bolton. In Bolton's defence, when you're starting with Tim Ream, Matt Mills looks a bargain. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Steve Kean. on 10:55 - Sep 19 by daveB | no they wouldn't have gone down with Allardyce but that was a few years back now, I'm not suggesting the bloke is a good manager just that he's not as clueless as many make out, he's doing well this season despite the odds really stacked against him. After all the stick he's had from the Blackburn fans I feel like i want to see him do well. |
In terms of playing staff, I don't think the odds are against him. It's a very open division and we'll see where they end-up. I've never warmed to the bloke because of his time at Fulham, and even though I can't stand Allardyce, I still think Kean was a classless wa nker with the way that he was engineered into the job. Unless you watch a club regularly, it's difficult to know what fans have had to put up with - when Coleman eventually got the sack from us, it was eighteen months overdue, but being a very popular former player, he'd taken virtually no stick from the fans, even though pretty much everyone wanted him gone. The press - who'd been slagging our football off all season - then decided that we were ungrateful wan kers for wanting Coleman out.

He got them relegated. He owes them a title to be honest!!! I think he is an awful manager and lets bring this thread back up in Jan. If they are still up there I will be surprised. Too much crap happening at Blackburn

Steve Kean. on 20:52 - Sep 21 with 713 views | GetMeRangers | This thread confuses me. If we were relegated, am I to believe that some here would not be that worried if Kean was appointed our manager, even if he does end up winning Blackburn the title. Useless manager and wouldnt want him anywhere near QPR
Steve Kean. on 22:27 - Sep 21 with 667 views | Jigsore | They'll crash at some point but at least make the playoffs. No doubt Kean has made some good signings but f**k me, 8m for Jordan Rhodes, a player who's (no doubt good enough now) but only played a couple of championship games let alone PL. You only have to look at a well managed team like Blackpool to know b'burn won't finish above 'em. Their GD already showing their superior displays

Kean was told by Singh (?), the chicken farmer's head honcho at Blackburn, that he had to get 16 points from the first 7 games. After last night that's 14 points from 7 (4 wins, 2 draws, and a loss). Would seem to be a bit unbelievable to sack him after a start like that, but as the commentator said last night, they are where they are based more so on results than performances, and judging by last night's display they're going to struggle badly. Tactically they were just awful! Long ball, long ball, long ball. Around the 70ish minute when they actually started passing it around on the floor lo and behold they looked half decent!
Steve Kean. on 13:26 - Sep 22 with 566 views | TGRRRSSS | I assume Blackburn are using current parachute money to fund the expense this season to get back quickly, Venky's won't be funding this directly, so it's gamble quickly. Also a lot seems to ride on 2 36 year olds (Murphy and Nuno Gomes), can't see both of them running the show throughout the season
