"...you need experienced soldiers in the Championship,” he says. “And that’s got to be sprinkled with youth and athleticism. You’ve got to get the right balance."

I imagine there's been a bit of a debate between HR and TF on the balance between youth and experience.

TF was pretty clear that he wanted young players who can grow with the club, and he's probably very wary of getting in another handful of 30-something year old high earners having seen how that went.

The 'experienced soldiers' bit is bound to be HR's thinking. Hopefully there'll be more than a sprinkling of the other.

Credentials not exactly inspiring. Hoping this isn't another Cotterill style appointment.

Hopefully the scouting network might reach abit further afield than the Spurs reserves.

Sorry mate I don't agree the experienced soldiers are Harry choice and the young players are TFs choice imo it's common sense both Harry and TF want a blend of both , don't blame harry for Hughs incompetence

Well it's good place to start after seeing Townsend ,Lets start with Livermore and Adam Smith and see what else they've got that's not likely to replace their 1st teamers

Agree... Fryers, Pritchard, Carroll too. The loan market has to be a massive consideration for any Championship side.

I'm only speculating based on what they've both said.

And I'm not saying the Parks and Bosingwas where HR's fault - only that TF has already had a bad experience with a few of the apparently 'more experienced' types.

Yeah they both said it but I think we need to read a bit between the lines Harry has been in the game to long to want 11=15 30+ age players ,and I believe TF is a trusting man who trusted a wrong un in Hughs and co and realises he got his fingers burnt imo he will listen to Harry and learn from him about building a squad ,a squad of nearly all young players would be dangerous as we could slip down as it takes longer waiting for fruition ,between them I think they will go for a more age balanced squad with more of a leaning to younger players

I wouldn't get excited about our scouting network all the time Broomfield is in charge...

Bare bones.

Did I read rightly that Bostock was released (or set to be released) recently?

Seem to remember he was the next big thing at one point and already had quite a bit of first team action at Palace before he went to them, what happened?
