Well that’s a turn up for the books! Tremendous performance by everyone including the manager. Now let’s see that level again against Everton.

Didn’t see that coming, exceptional performance and amazing game management from Nathan Jones, hats off to you after all the pressure you and the team have been under. Was expecting an onslaught in the second half and it never happened and the back 5 coped really well.Really proud of them tonight, just hope that performance wasn’t for Pep and the TV and we can carry it on in the League. 😇

Great performance even from some of our more inconsistent players. Diallo, Djenepo, Eli and Arma - all grabbed their chance and really shone.

JWP was all over the pitch. Mara showed what we have been missing. Caleta-car looked like he had always been in the team. Lyanco rose to the occasion - fantastic interception. And Bazunu got his clean sheet.

Now let's have 3 points this weekend.

That was my first Jones match - cannot understand what everyone has been moaning about! Very good performance all around. Well organised, good shape and hungry. Lavia was key for me, mainly since he allows JWP to be further forward, and has so much time. Jones has to calm down a bit, he was beside himself in the first half, but I did notice he listens to his assistants. Man City were pretty poor but a lot of that was down to us. Let's hope we can carry it through to Saturday.

That was astonishing. 2 fabulous goals and we bossed them. We bossed Man City! The tactics were perfect and I take my hat off to NJ.

Lyanco was pulling out full Mark Wright with a splash of Franny. He plays with passion. There is always a rick in there but I cant help thinking he listens to M&M One Shot before he steps on the pitch. He is brilliant. Caleta car was pulling out full VVD. Bazuna, Lavia and JWP were brilliant. We didnt allow them a shot on target. Man City!

With the spine secure the front players could play. Mara took his goal really well, Djenepo's was audacious and rediculous and I loved it. Even AA was having some fun and pulling out the tricks in the second half.

That was a game which should kick start the season. The new signings must be pretty happy with what they saw. This is going to be fun. I havent felt that way about this team since Koeman had us ripping up trees.

What a great night to be at St Mary's & the atmosphere was fantastic, I feel sorry for all of those that chose not to come, expecting us to get hammered. Only 22,000 & many of those not regulars, didn't recognise anyone around us last night. The guys in the Northam & Itchen North however, were as good as the team! I particularly enjoyed " Your just a sh*t Ricky Lambert" aimed at Haaland.
Not that I really thought we would win but hoping for a decent performance perhaps & TBH slightly disappointed with the team selection, Djenepo, Diallo, Mara & no Adams?
But how wrong I was we were 12/1 to win this game and everyone put in at least a 9 out of 10, JWP & A. Armstrong got a 10 from me for the amount of work and ground they covered it was immense. If this is the football that NJ is trying to offer up, then I'm in.

Wonderful performance by Saints. I'm very proud of them and Nathan Jones.
Good to see Mara get his first goal and just as good to see Moussa Djenepo re-open his goal scoring account with a fine finish.
Bring on N'CastleArabia United.

Saw the team sheets and feared the worst.
A great attitude and performance from our players - been a long time coming, so let's hope this now continues for the rest of the season.
NJ tactics have finally hit home, or 2 new signings given everyone a kick up the arse ?
What a difference (and novelty) going in front makes. Goals change games and those 2 in that 5 minute first half spell, really set us on our way. We pressed City and hounded after every ball and that really got all the fans on side.
Mara took his goal excellently, although it doesn't really count, as it is not in the league :-)
Djenepo - just WOW !! Superb finish. Where have you been for the last 2 or 3 years ?

It was great seeing City players resort to diving and moaning. No shots on target and TWO foul throws !! :-)

A top night's work. Let's do it again at Everton on Saturday please !! (some tickets still available, although I think they are Restricted View, towards the back of that awful away end).
