A big shout out to this bloke.

He Never stops running about causing a nuisance and he also tracks back to help out the defence . A good solid professional who was excellent yesterday and against Brighton. He’s had his critics and has upset a few people in his career but I think he’s going to be an important player for us this season .

I’ve noticed he’s been playing at right back the last two games. He was outstanding for QPR last season at centre back, was called up for England U21 to play at centre back and we play him at right back despite having plenty of other right backs.

Very strange.

Saints beat Sport Republic's Valenciennes 2-1 over 120 minutes in a fiery behind-closed-doors contest today. Physically tough week.

Cameron Archer netted his third in a row in a 1-1 to start and Adam Armstrong scored again in a 1-0 second-half win. Was a battle.

Danny Rohl quits Wednesday

I know some on here don’t rate Rohl even though he did a decent job at Wednesday with no money in fact the players weren’t even being paid for large periods. I wonder how we would all do in our jobs with no renumeration ? . Spors rates him having worked with him at Leipzig and there are rumours that other Bundesliga clubs and Saudi clubs also want him.

Danny Rohl has said today that his dream is working in the Bundesliga or Premier league so let’s not get too excited .

They have just eased past Fulham in the quarterfinals without breaking sweat. They Look very very good, excellent passing, quick movement and brilliant finishing. They remind me of how we were when we finished top 8 four years running, before we sold everything in sight of course. It’s The Southampton Way .

How do they manage to keep all their stars ? Fair play to them.

I think they had an offer from Newcastle of around 90 million for their centre back in the summer and they turned it down. That has never happened here and never will.
