So one game for pre season it is then…
at 20:44 17 Jun 2025

I was about to post it wasn’t that long ago that QPR were heading to Griffin Park for pre season. How the tables have turned.

I think Furlong has done enough to be part of the first team coaching staff.

Those two being in control would not improve things imo.

Hoos was part of the reason why the club failed to make any progress in this division. He often claimed the ground held the club back, Brentford, Bournemouth and Luton all had smaller stadiums and still won promotion during his time here.

I also blame the owners and just wish that someone/ consortium that knows how to run a successful sports team will buy the club or a big share of it and take over with the day to day running of it.

Rueben and Co don't know how it should be done and instead have trusted Nourry and Ferdinand before him, to do the job.

MC, has been treated disgracefully, even if his camp spoke to WBA about the vacancy there. He was clearly angry about the Ben Williams fiasco. They could have told him that he would be recalled for extra season.

Maybe Nourry thinks he can get someone better than MC (we can only hope he does), because as pointed out, this doesn't cover QPR with glory or make working with this Board very appealing.

There is a minimum amount of games for each Championship club.

QPR must have been on at least 6 times (home games) last season so a minimum of £3m additional payments , which just about makes the switching of ko times palatable given how cash strapped the club is.

If the payments are more at the £1-1.5m mark than I would be OK if they select another 6 games this season. Maybe we would have more leeway when it comes to buying and selling players.

Maybe the club wont get compensation if they appoint a replacement first. If that is the case, then yes, it has been a balls up.

I think I read that somewhere too.

But the football his teams played as caretaker were also disappointing.

Quality players who rarely featured for England
at 14:40 13 Jun 2025

Bannister would have been selected but was not edible having won an U21 cap for Wales. The rules have correctly been changed now to allow players to change countries ad the likes of Rice and Zaha have done.

I also think that Le Tissier should have been a regular in the England squad. Hoddle as manager treated him terribly just before the 98 World Cup. He selected Le Tissier for a B team to play and impress just before naming the final squad. He played and scored a hat-trick, but was still omitted from the squad. We could have done with him in the penalty shootout loss against Argentina (he rarely, if ever, missed.

Phil Parkes would surely have won more than 1 if he didn't have to compete against Shilton & Clemence.

The Big Match - ITV4

I agree, it was bad officiating in that game. It still stands out to me, apart from the 10 goals and great comeback, but also because I had a 15 team accumulator bet and had 14 correct results. Guess which match lost my bet!!

I was so p1ssed off I wrote to the FA to let them know the officials cost me well over £2000 (I stopped calculating after the 13th game).

Loads, in case we have a repeat of Warburton's final season.

I was young boy then, but it still hurts. Yes, Phil Boyer was offside ,but they could even have had a player sent off for punching Bowlez earlier in the game.

What about celebrating that side by having that seasons away kit as one this season. I bet they haven't done that.

I think that was our best ever side closely followed by the 82/83 & 83/84 teams (mostly if jot all, the same players).

Don't be silly. Of course we have not been going to the matches because we liked the coach, the football or his efforts to keep the club up. We have been turning up because of the boy wonder Nourry. His name is sung out by the fans around the stadium.

Nourry has done some very good things at the club , including with the Dev Squad, but this drip feeding of news and non disclosure, as well as how he has handled this scenario with MC is bad for the club and us fans.

A fk up could be true because I don’t get the logic of doing it this way.

Just release all 3 at the same time and much quicker than this nonsense.

I agree, I don’t recall which QPR games he officiated, but he could handle any quarrels on the pitch because of his stature and fitness. There weren’t many players that I can remember who would argue too much with him.

This.

Impetuous decision to place MC on gardening leave, so we have a messed up pre season to contend with.

I agree. I said at the time that placing MC on gardening leave was wrong and if anything , it weakens QPR’s compensation claims, because clubs will state that QPR don’t want him, so why should they meet any release clause? They are more likely to offer less in a take it or leave it way. Also, MC could have a case similar to the Bosman ruling.

Nourry , imo, has acted impetuously and created this mess. QPR will struggle to negotiate new deals for players when they don’t have a manager, including trying to persuade Dunne to sign a new contract.
