Nourry on new H&F board
at 10:12 11 May 2025

Totally agree, wonder how many of these at the final this week?

Guys

Whatever you think of him, Nourry is obviously not out to a bad job for so many reasons, the main thing being if he cocks it all up at his age he could well be unemployed for a long long time. His motivation is more than say Hoos who is no doubt independently wealthy. Try and think that he has the best intentions. No worries criticising decisions made, like I don’t care about contract lengths, I do care Clive doesn’t get access. We have the spine of a decent team next season and could have a rare situation of options up front when Charlie returns. Youngsters coming through and if this thread was true about the ground I’m sure all would forgive his faults.

Sunday morning, sunny day, cup of tea talking. 62 so in the old gits category

Be the only manager who would start on gardening leave ….. no, even though at the time I thought he was the real deal

Surely no one can look at this negatively, the worst that can happen is we stay as we are. Be good if we won next week and 1st meeting after

Just putting it out there, I reckon that might disappoint some. I think our club is the beautiful antithesis to all that is wrong in the beautiful game, Hoping other “ small” London clubs are seeing a similar trend. I know opinions about owners, CEO’s, DOF, Head of this and that go round in circles but, and I can’t think of another way of putting it, our little haven in W12 and those who visit it are magic. Let Clive weave his next year Mr Nourry, life will be easier.

The QPR summer managers rumours thread
at 10:01 6 May 2025

Who says? My experience of garden leave is the opposite, you are serving your notice at home and on call. Replacement can be recruited, with my work ( large bank) you automatically went on garden leave if you were going to a competitor. Not saying that is exactly the case here but Marti’s reps did seemingly do a dance with WBA , not even a different division. All in the contract. Agree with other posters, would love the children to make up and play football in the same playground again. More chance of the large Irish kid staying if that happened.

Rangers read the room, finish on a high at Sunderland - Report
at 09:51 6 May 2025

Clive, maybe we are not in such a parlous state as some think. Brilliant report as always and totally respect the time and talent that goes into this and podcasts etc. On time I don’t know how you manage to follow us up and down the country, deal with our train system, Premier Inns, full time job, support Crown & Sceptre and produce such reports. So a well earned rest is more than due.
Funny season but, I am the eternal optimist, I actually feel we are not a billion miles from a decent squad. Losing Jimmy will be the hardest to take.
Hopefully see u at DS final, don’t do a report for gods sake….. Andy

Dare I say I did start a thread a couple of weeks ago about Nourry not doing the worst job, quoted FFP, the fact the squad is stronger, despite injuries. I remember a number of Clive’s reports positively mentioning the bench options we now have, the DS success. I know he didn’t find Marti but I believe he recruited him so presume it was his decision. I got a little bit of stick but this thread is pretty awful on so many levels. Mr Elbows response really well balanced.
I can’t believe you are an internal attempt to appease or justify actions of the leadership, therefore I can’t believe you are ITK because it’s plainly obvious no one is.
Funny though I spoke to a number of Reading fans yesterday who have really been through the mill. They asked why Marti was off I mentioned his reps had spoken to WBA, they did the same with Steve Clarke some years ago when they found out he was touting himself about, he didn’t even go on garden leave. I’m a Marti fan btw just wish they could reconcile

Agree

But ( and sorry I am always looking for positives) we only scored 5 less than Sunderland over the season and over 20 players on the scoresheet. Not the worst but could do with that mythical unicorn.

We’re winning? Happy with toothless, though Frey and Madsen booked so not totally toothless.

Even if we draw am looking forward to the negative comments because where it matters this has been a good week and I’m a Marti fan.

Meant to say I was sitting next to the Oxford City scout the other night at the game. He was there because we trusted them with Putnam ( right back) who apparently was a revelation for them in National League North? Tough gig as meant going to South Shields and other such towns up Notrth for games with no hotels etc. Chose him as his character matched his ability. All the naysayers are going to absolutely hate this but he said it is known about the new direction Rangers are going with youth development and our reputation has improved massively and then pointed out 3 other scouts from lower leagues. He then said that Wednesday was a waste of time in that we played so many on the cusp of the 1st team so not the pool they can afford. Obviously he thought Putnam the best player on the pitch but really positive about all the others and agreed Dillon made a difference. Was really trying to see what he was typing on his laptop, can confirm he wasn’t playing Fortnite. Before I get slammed I know it’s Oxford City but still a third party view.

Not how garden leave worked for me. I was serving my notice to leave and was replaced before I did. He will have a notice period I’m sure. No one obviously knows

Maybe not Barcelona but still a helluva achievement when you see how many Category 1 academies had entered.

Clive it is good news, I know hard to take or even how to react but it is hard to make this one a negative.

Have to say agree with all . One thing Tuck has filled out a lot already and was a class act last night.

Interesting which first teamers I saw supporting, Alfie, Madsen and Nardi, saw Xavi looking very calm afterwards giving selfies etc.
