 | News Comment | Pre-season and Perpignan – Awaydays at 14:19:57
Was around the south east myself a week or two ago, and this lovely piece made those recent memories even fresher, thanks Clive. Lovely to enjoy the good times before this certain disaster of a season unfolds with no midfield or full backs, although maybe a fit striker at last. |

plenty of blame to be shared around but: Goalie CB out of position at right back Captain CM out of position, effectively 5th choice CB 5th choice LB (paal, fox, ashby, colback would play there before him) 2 CMs who have played about 8 championship games between them unfit and out of form Chair 2 passengers, effectively reducing us to 9 men Koki, who was Kokay. I don't care who the manager is, that team is getting relegated and it's a miracle Sunderland didn't do the same thing Boro did. |

I mean, unbelievable stuff. It's only me, but I'd have liked a good three paragraphs on what it was like on the Pullman train. But as I say, that's only me. |

nightwish we lost 5-0 at Southend under Gregory, and they were terrible and finished bottom. Somehow, we stayed up. |

Hands up, the FA Cup stuff is all down to me. I did a deal with the devil that I can't even remember the details of, but I was so desperate for us to beat Luton all those years ago I made some promises. Shabazz Baidoo scored with his fist, so if you want evidence of something didgy happening, there you go. Surely there's a 25-year time limit on these deals? |
 | News Comment | QPR's annual Ewood Park defeat spoils Beale's big day - Report at 13:48:09
Wouldn't disagree with that. Maybe needs to be some management from Beale and the club too - a quiet word before the game 'you'll see our lads will be respectful - hope you respect that' and after 'shame you didn't send him off, hope it wasn't because we didn't encourage you to'. And on ref reports too. |

I was surprised by some of the optimism this pre-season considering our form of the last few months I have to say, but people extrapolating too much from a single away 1-0 defeat on the first game of the season is equally foolhardy. By October, I'd expect our regular side to be 4, maybe even 5 players different (new RB, Amos, Willock, Roberts as a minimum). This was never going to happen overnight. Also, I usually agree with everything you say Clive, but I'm proud our players don't surround the referee. I couldn't really give a toss about how it doesn't put him under pressure. I'd rather us act like respectful adults, whatever the cost. Appreciate I'm in a minority. But we can't complain about sh!thousing every week, and then criticise the team for not haranguing referees at every moment. |

Excellent piece Clive, balanced, fair. I think he's been brilliant for us, and it may be a mistake to let him go. I can see what Myke is saying about not arresting the slide, but equally, the modern fan is very unforgiving. Any failure means the sack. And is that right? Or have we just been conditioned to believe that's right? John Lyall is a West Ham legend, but had plenty of rpey seasons in his long tenure. Does a bad 12 game run mean you're unable to do the job? Why don't we put equal weight to a good 12 game run in that case? I don't know - just asking the question. I also think it's possible for two things to be true: that Warbs did a very good job, but the club may also benefit fro a fresh approach. It doesn't have to be 'he's rubbish, get someone new' or 'he's great, what are we doing?' |

Loved this - this was exactly me! Give it to Dykes. GIVE IT TO AMOS. Surely all these last minute goals started With Jamie Mackie though? |
 | News Comment | Dickie bounces Rangers back off the canvas - Report at 22:10:00
Myke, the great saves etc matter little when he's letting in goals like he has the last three games. I know it's hard for keepers - a little error and it's a goal. But come on. Three games in a row he's let shots in through both hands. You can't get more than a 4 for letting one like that in. |

I love that Sutton goal because of Matthew Hanlon's weird straight arm windmill celebration, and I'll never tire of it. |
