Marti to Leicester…maybe
at 10:44 15 Jul 2025

That's obviously because the two are inextricably linked. It's difficult for someone so young to have acquired the relevant experience. That's why CEOs don't tend to be 26 years old. Indeed, the average age of those appointed CEO in the UK is around 55. Add the the fact that Christian is both CEO and DoF into the mix, and it becomes easy to see why some folk are dubious.

Les was an entirely different matter. Firstly, he was DoF, not CEO. He performed this role between the ages of 48 and 56, a range more consistent with the average senior director. His lack of experience stemmed from never having worked in a similar role before.

Taylor Richards finally going?
at 16:14 7 Jul 2025

If you're going by what's posted on here then you're reaching big time. The bottom line is when you attempt to cancel other folk by pulling the "What do we really know about it?" card, by definition you cancel your own opinion.

Now you reckon that when Taylor got to City he decided "nah, I don't really want to do this". If that's the case then he should've been looking for a new career and not signing professional football contracts that he had no intention of fulfilling.

As for what happened at your workplace, that's one example from 40 years ago that is frankly irrelevant to this conversation. I can give a ton of examples from my experience where folk were simply taking the piss. I worked with one man who went off sick for 6 months with depression. When he realised his salary was about to reduce to half-pay, he returned to work for 2 weeks before signing off sick for another 6 months. The rest of the team had to cover his workload and in a twist of irony one or two of them suffered from stress as a result. I also worked with a lady who was off work long-term with "mental health issues". By complete chance, she was seen by a colleague living it up on holiday in Marrakech. She was called in for a meeting during which she denied being abroad before being shown video evidence to the contrary.

Take from that what you will but the only fact of the matter is that you know no more about Taylor's mental health than the next man. What we do know is that he's wasted the last 2 years, taking up resources that could have been better utilised elsewhere. Next time you're wondering why the club still hasn't signed a striker, bear that in mind.

Perhaps this interview and the one with Dave Mc is a sign that things are changing.

Taylor Richards finally going?
at 19:10 6 Jul 2025

How do you know whether he's had mental health issues? Do you have access to his health records? What do you really know about it? Understand that when you pull out the "what do we really know" trump card, it applies to you too. Personally, I have eyes and a brain, and I'm not buying it.

That being said, whilst I don't believe that Richards has had mental health issues, I do agree with your second point. Taylor is under contract and pulling a wage. He appears to have lost weight and is available. Whether this is a classic case of a player trying to win a new contract in his final year, only time will tell. However, Stephan should work with a clean slate and pick players on form.

He's not the boss. He's an employee who takes direction from the board and owners.

Statement from the board
at 12:41 4 Jul 2025

There was a similar statement posted by the board prior to the start of last season. Then it was overseas signings that needed time to settle in. This year it's young players. Essentially they're managing short term expectations.

You're well within your rights to ask constructive questions and I for one encourage it. I don't see it as either pro or anti-Nourry and don't understand anyone who does. It's only natural and prudent to be inquisitive when so much is changing on and off the pitch.

With respect to your last set of questions I don't believe that the game model is locked down to a specific formation. For me, it's more about identity and style of play, and how the board shape recruitment, development and sales to support this. As ever with QPR's budget, balancing competitiveness with sustainability is key. With games coming thick and fast in the Championship the best teams are flexible and adaptable in their tactical approach. However, you do need a balanced squad to achieve that and this is where I questioned the recruitment last summer. We overloaded on 10s and left huge voids elsewhere. It'll be interesting to see whether these gaps are plugged before the season starts.

You're probably right but we've seen with the likes of Morgan, Kolli, Lloyd and Bennie that the club isn't afraid to throw young players into the deep end. Perhaps it won't happen this season but ultimately I think his ceiling is higher than Larkeche's.

Probably some truth to that but talk about cutting your nose to spite your face. If anything can encourage me to swallow my pride, it's losing money.

Aren't they currently the subject of a takeover bid from a US consortium?

Kolli

Social media shenanigans aside, I don't understand the negativity around Kolli. Of all the ball playing forwards at the club (of which there are many), here is one who genuinely knows where the goal is. If reports of Kelman leaving are true then we'll need Kolli to step up.

That's a nickname; his actual name is João Henrique Mendes da Silva. The nickname is slightly misleading because at 1.83m (6ft) he's not exactly little. I've nothing to base this on but I've got a good feeling about this kid. If he can handle the physicality he could turn out to be a wee gem like Gino.

Another one for the LFW glossary. Whilst Vale did feature at LB in his youth, he's ostensibly a forward.

Cook is underrated and undervalued by some. It staggers me how quick some are to write him off yet the persistently injury-prone JCS walks into their starting 11. Sure, there are question marks over Cook's age and fitness but if I would back anyone to come through it, it's Steve.

Because it's a squad game and the championship is relentless. Not every signing is a guaranteed starter.
