Well, if you can’t defend in the Scottish league you have no hope in the Championship. Surely, he’s going to be on the bench as a backup to a more seasoned defender in that position? |

First saw them in the Red Cow in Hammersmith and then watched them move through the gears to play four nights on the HTH tour at the Hammersmith Odeon - 1979. Bon was the Master and Commander and in that period they were untouchable as a live act - just a sonic assault. Last saw them in 2001 in the US and they were still pretty good. Having watched some of the recent tour via YT they seem to have played around with the tuning and Brian can hardly hit a note. Off to see the mighty Maiden tomorrow! |

Marti has been class in very difficult circumstances. Even his farewell message is classy. It’s beyond belief that one of the best managers we’ve had for sometime has essentially been thrown under the bus for non-footballing reasons. Nourry made that clear in his message. Whilst I want the new manager to be very successful I can’t help feeling Nourry is going to regret what seems a very spiteful and personal agenda against Marti. I hope Marti goes on and continues to be successful. |

The Chinese are patient-Taiwan can wait. The Chinese have all the main technology and a huge build up of their military. Difficult for the US to wrestle back control of all the industrial manufacturing it outsourced to the Chinese over the past 30yrs. They literally handed over their tech IP. The only ingredient the Chinese lack is actual military engagement with an adversary either by proxy or head-on. They’ve will have learnt from the mistakes of the US and Russia in their foreign wars where they have failed miserably. Iran must be an enormous opportunity for the Chinese. Name me one major US foreign policy mission that has worked since the 1960’s? |

Brilliant and accurate post. Worth watching the Netflix documentary series - Turning Point - The Bomb and the Cold War. The undermining and overthrowing of Iranian democracy by the US and U.K. covered in brilliant detail. |

Fcuk me! What is factually incorrect? As for hysterical look in the mirror. The point of Israel using ambiguity regarding its nuclear arsenal is a well-worn mantra used by Israeli politicians and commentators who hide behind it. The fact is Israel has nuclear weapons-end of. It’s a historical fact that Israel prepared to use nukes in 1973 should it be over-run. It’s fact that Israeli scientists stole the uranium to start its own nuclear weapons programme. Yes they stole it. Of the three countries currently involved in this conflict the US used nuclear weapons, Israel was prepared to use them in 1973. Iran doesn’t have a nuclear weapon and the fact is it wasn’t currently building a nuclear weapons programme. Facts matter. |

Israel is the only nuclear power in the middle-east. Their arsenal is estimated to be over 200 operational warheads which can be delivered by submarine based cruise missiles, bombers or straight forward ICBMs. They flatly deny they have them and opt out of any external inspection regime. Iran are far from innocent bystanders, but the hypocrisy that it is fine for the fanatical morons running Israel at present to be trusted with nuclear weapons and the Iranian regime aren’t - is just mind boggling! I find the political thinking that Israel are defending our way of life from the Muslim masses to be idiotic. It’s that mindset that got us embroiled in Iraq and Syria and that look how that ended up for the western allies. Israel is ok letting the west arm them, so they can shoot from afar and allow their troops to butcher thousands of innocent civilians in Gaza which is genocide. If the US and Europe were to pull their arms to Israel and the middle-east were to erupt into a conventional conflict, Israel would go nuclear - literally. Not long before China starts to arm Iran, then we’ll see the game even out. Israel has to be reined in quickly before they plunder the whole world into a catastrophic conflict. |

It’s pretty obvious that Nourry is now in complete control. The owners have clearly thrown themselves and their money behind him. Interesting times. |

It’s the first total loss of a Dreamliner. I’d be focusing my attention on the maintenance of the Air India fleet. Within the industry they have an appalling reputation for the poor condition of their cabins etc. They are owned by TATA so they have a lot to answer for. The FAA and the U.K. AAIB are apparently at the crash scene and will be all over the maintenance records and regime on this particular aircraft and the approach to maintenance by the parent company TATA. |

The original video source now confirms the RAT (Ram Air Turbine) deployed after take-off. It also explains the loud bang the sole survivor heard which is the RAT automatically engaging. It’s unthinkable that the aircraft had a total loss of power but that now seems the likely cause. God help whoever was maintaining the Air India aircraft because that should never happen. |

The Boeing 787 has multiple electronic systems (not paper) that remind the pilots about the take-off and landing checklists. The cockpit would have been sounding off with all sorts of alarms if the had forgotten the basics of extending the flaps. It’s why Boeing hasn’t lost a whole 787 since production. I suspect the Capt asked the FO to lift the landing gear and he accidentally engaged the flaps - a catastrophic mistake. The plane was at its heaviest and wasn’t recoverable as they lost the ability to lift the aircraft. A clue is the survivor talks of huge bang before impact and that may well be the stress on the flaps. You can clearly see the gear was never retracted-which normally happens at 50-75 metres. |
 | Forum Reply | The QPR summer managers rumours thread at 09:51 12 Jun 2025
There is too much emphasis on formations. At the end of the day football is about the quality of players you have. In our case we haven’t had a god enough squad (for sometime) with enough decent footballers both technical and physical. Marti showed the ability to squeeze more than the sum of the parts out of the squad he had. If the players aren’t up to it a good coach has to find a way to get the best out of what he has. Our recruitment has been rank bottom and yet here we are with another season looming and the squad is toilet stuff. If it’s going to work at R’s at least give the new guy a decent squad, keep them fit and give him a strong bench. None of that is likely to happen so it will be rinse and repeat next season. It’s all so obvious. |

Not exactly a glowing endorsement. He was good at building a team up and moving players on but injuries caught up and he couldn’t sustain the form. This won’t last until Xmas. |

5ft 11 tall and 15 and half stone after Xmas. I am 64. I was embarrassed and shocked. Upset as well as I had major surgery and treatment for stage 3 bowel cancer in September 22. I took the plunge and started a course of Monjouro in February. Today I am 13st - 2lb. You have to exercise as well but the difference in my well-being is transformational. I have not had any side effects. I am aiming to get to 12st - 6 and then I will stop and try to maintain that weight. Generally it is accepted that once you stop the medication you will put on some minimal weight but I will cross that bridge once I am there. |

Sounds as though Marti was right to call it out. It would be interesting to discover who made this decision to have him return. |

Did the same with AC/DC Powerage recently. Monster album. Riff Raff is off the scale. |
 | Forum Reply | Nourry on new H&F board at 10:58 10 May 2025
Interesting option but there’s nothing in that from an investment perspective. If the Board want to just focus on a “half-way house” refurbishment option, I can definitely see that as a good option. Given the myriad of possible investment options presenting themselves on the LCS and OOC sites that is an opportunity too good to miss - in my opinion and experience. One option gives us a quick short-term upgrade whilst the other provides a huge opportunity to take the club upwards with a state of the art modern stadium with associated infrastructure and the opportunity to invest in a huge development opportunity that dwarfs anything going on in White City. The associated investment gains on the second option would fund the club way beyond anything happening today where the owners have to find £2M a month to finance the club. |
 | Forum Reply | Nourry on new H&F board at 16:37 9 May 2025
Spent most of my corporate career in global real estate investment and planning. This is a serious step by the Board and I suspect we have a seat at the table. That’s a first and most important step in the RE game. Wouldn’t surprise me if the LCS is back on the agenda. If I recall there was a recent sports investment of £200K. That wouldn’t have touched the surface on the infrastructure improvements needed at that facility. We now have HS2 terminating in London so OAC now becomes a very attractive investment and development opportunity. The opportunity is now there if the above is a realistic possibility-which I think it is. Will be interesting to see if the LCS is quickly back on the agenda when Nourry is present at one of these meetings - if they share the minutes. I have no doubt the Board have probably presented some serious financial credentials to get a seat. |
