I know we all are sick of the sight of him but he's been an amazing servant to that club. |

TBH I don't think I've seen anyone on here suggest that any of our keepers are anything but flawed. The debate was whether we persisted with Walsh, who seems to have promise but is very young and was likely shell-shocked after Coventry, or reverted to Nardi who for all his flaws looks a more than decent shot-stopper and probably has the experience not to go to pieces if he has a bad game. Since Walsh is injured it's all a bit academic this side of the transfer window anyway. |

I'm not going to slag off Birch, who's a proper QPR man and gave us some good times when it was rough. I also get the point that if you celebrate a 1-0 home win in the 2nd Division (old money) like it's the FA Cup Final, where do you go from there? But, Jesus, we've had some tough times over the last few years. Just look at how the Coventry 1-7 affected people who've stuck by the club through thick and thin. I like this bunch of players and, sad though I was for Marti (and I'll always have a soft spot) I like this manager. Give them this day if it's a turning point. |

"QPR - a few ruffians kicking a cabbage about in the street. Since 1882." Could do worse than that as a slogan. PS hoping that the OP finds the family he's looking for, though I can only assume the poor bastards are traumatised and unable to cope with sudden loud noises or any mention of Oxford United. |

Look on the bright side. When the FA Cup rolls round and we drop the entire 1st XI, we might put out a side containing Chair, Poku, Dembele, Smyth, Field, Kolli, Frey, JCS, Esquerdinha and Cook. Kolli probably only gets on the bench at that. |
 | Forum Reply | Possession…. Can do one? at 22:25 21 Sep 2025
God knows I know nothing about tactics, but for ages (literally years, I think) I've noticed that having more possession didn't match up with dominance. I don't share the complete derision for tikataka common on here. When really great teams played that way then at worst they're hard to score against cos you can't score without the ball and at best they pull opponents out of position and make chances. But when great sides play direct football that also works because they are always going to get some possession, they will use it to attack the goal, and they have the quality to make it count. Like most of life, it ain't what you do it's the way that you do it. But a mediocre side playing with energy and determination is still worth watching, a mediocre side trying to play tikataka is at best boring and at worse falls flat on it's face. |

Was actually on the way to and from Durham - used to stop over at my mother-in-law's in the Derbyshire Peaks so she could see her grandson and then do the Northern Leg. Sheffield's a fine city, mind. |

Used to drive through Penistone regularly when taking my lad to and from Uni, always raised a puerile smirk from me. Quite a decent curry house there IIRC. |

Back then I think anyone applauding a Chelsea goal would have been suspected, quite possibly rightly, of being an infiltrator. (Think I remember that goal, and yes it was a good one.) |
