You don't understand... America was afraid that Japan would fight till the last man. As that Japanese soldier found on a remote island years later attests to. They didn't expect an im.ediate surrender, in fact they new was almost impossible with the regime.

I suspect that Starmer believes that the sponsers of Hamas will pressure them and his job is to pressure Israel

Arrant nonsense.

What you have referenced is normal national politics on the International stage and all America has done is use our "relationship" to shape and cajol europe.

Posters harp on about fighting for the best deal for Britain but yet expect other nations to roll over for us and deny their nations their best deal. UK exceptionalism is as bad as any other.

Agreed ... but we may pay a price. That is not O'Dea's fault it is the fault of those before him. This could mean that the run before Xmas will not be great but come january we should be fully up to speed... and that's not a bad time to put in a good run.
