Here we go again. Another game against piss poor opponents where we should be at least two up. Mitchell seems incapable of scoring the simplest of chances. Sit back and wait for the inevitable cock up (which both teams seem capable of) but we are most likely to make. Until we start taking our chances draws and/or losses are inevitable. Come on dale find your shooting boots !!
We did not start slow we started a 100 mile an hour as did they but we lost the mid field battle and have simply nothing up front to cause York a problem . Changes are needed and its time for Jim to earn his corn and find us some inspiration,
The injury toll is already building up and it would not surprise me if both Hogan and Waller were doubts for Saturday as they both appeared to be limping and carrying injuries at the end last night. The team will need all the support we can give over the next few weeks and we need to acknowledge that Jim will have to 'box and cox' the best he can with the players available. UPTD.
It never ceases to amaze me how many crosses we pull back from the dead ball line that we fail to benefit from.It almost becomes pointless when both TAR and Buyabu get to the line as they often do and we dont benefit from it. Kairo cant head a ball for toffee and is half a yard too slow with his thinking whilst despite scoring yesterday with his head Rodney suddenly seems unable to sort his feet out when given the opportunity to put away the chances given to him. To be fair I think Jim recognises our inability to score as demonstrated by his rather desperate tactic of switching Buyabu to the right side offering him the opportunity to cut in on to his left and shoot. Sadly I agree with those who feel that Jim is running out of ideas and seems unable to find a solution to the crisis of confidence that seems to afflict the players when in and around the oppostion box. Despite a decent defensive record it is costing us big time points wise at a time when we can least afford it.

I mean those who have pushed to improve communication between Club and Supporters. The criticisms have been justified but this is the chance to make sure as individuals we grab the opportunity with both hands.
This is the initiative we have been waiting for. The opportunity for all the critical voices on here to stand up and be counted, a chance to influence and make yourself heard where it matters.
We simply must take any chances we get, we spurn good opportunities. Oldham are a big physical team who play direct from everything swinging high balls in for that big lump Fondop Talum. We can still get something out of this if we keep moving the ball the way we did in the first 20 mins. and convert what we make.
I am bored now !! Not banned maybe but I have blocked because its just so distracting. I wish others who feel the same would follow suit instead of constantly feeding this unnecessary debate.
I agree with everything you say. I certainly believe if the game opens up we will have more than enough to win the match. However, it may seem an odd thing to say about a team who have scored six goals in their last two games but I feel we still need to be more clinical in our finishing . If we had taken the easy chances we created in those last two games we should have scored even more. Failure to capitalise on our chances against Oldham could come back and bite us on the bum and I don't think we need to be going into the closing stages clinging on. So come on boys be sharp and take the chances you make and show those Oldham hordes what you are capable of. UTD
I must admit that I am really looking forward to this game in the hope of seeing us carry on the fine form we showed on Saturday. Granted the opposition is different and somewhat buoyed by their own victory over the weekend but I am hopeful we can follow up and take advantage of a series of fixtures which could see us spring up the league over the next month. I don't expect Boston to capitulate easily and we do need to be at it from the beginning to prove to any doubters that we are capable of putting together back to back quality performances. One word of caution however based on the goal we conceded at Barnet, its worth noting that Boston also tend to rely on a long throw specialist who is inclined to bomb the goalmouth. Liam Hogan and Sam Waller beware. UPTD
TVOS will correct me if I am wrong but I don't think we have been awarded a penalty in league and cup games this season. Apart from the possibility of unfortunate refereeing decisions that must surely be a direct consequence of our failure to attack and penetrate the opposition penalty area with sufficient aggresion to create an error. Something for Jim to take note of I think.
He was a really nice guy Norman. Solid defender for Dale early sixties. I can remember him running some coaching sessions for local amateur players at Redbrook around the late sixties I think. He must have kept his eye on our results in the Observer because he usually had a word if you scored or got a mention. RIP Norman.
Unless Jim and the players are able to find a way we are in for another potential bore fest. Tamworth have no obligation to entertain and following a few early season thrashings tend to set up to frustrate, a method that has brought them some success recently and which inevitably works against our slow possesion based style. To avoid the usual depressing sonario against this type of team surely Jim sees the need to start the game hard and fast and keep going forward even if we are fortunate to score early. For once I would like to see the oppostion defenders have a torrid time instead of sitting back comfortably while we pass nonchalontly around the edge of the area. I would love to be pleasantly surprised but I suppose in all honesty I am steeled for more frustration.
Agree that the first half was a bit dull but we were in control apart from the odd dangerous attack from AFC. Special mention for Robson today who made a stunning save towards the end of the half from a powerful header low down to his left. There were some brilliant performances throughout the team today and a number of candidates for MOM but agree the new guy was a contender, he had a great debut.
Looking forward to the game. Proper FA Cup tie for me. They will be fired up after last weeks drubbing of Aldershot and with a new manager to impress. We will have a decent and hopefully vocal away following with the players up for it after being frustrated at Ebbsfleet. Add in the National Leagues top scorers in Houghton (11) and Mitchell(9) and we have the recipe for a great game. Hopefully we can keep the mistakes to a minimum and progress into the first round proper in what appears a far tougher game now than when the draw was made.
