 | Forum Thread | Not A Great Season By Any Measure... at 15:46 3 May 2025
...but I have a warm glow after seeing both Cardiff and now Luton heading off for pastures new. And by 'heading' I mean 'fcking' and when I say 'new', I mean shite. Mmmmm, satisfying. Jeeves, pour me another glass of their tears... |
 | Forum Thread | Alfie Lloyd at 10:45 9 Mar 2025
I am not sure what to make of him. On the one hand, he's pacy, prepared to get stuck into a row with the opposition defence (especially as a second half sub), has already got a couple of goals, is young enough to have a good career here and still get a big move etc. And above all that, he's one of our Dev Squad successes, in as much as he's hit the First Team and is making a contribution most weeks. Big thumbs up from me. On the other hand, however, his control and first touch just aren't consistent enough (which I put down to experience), he gives away some iffy fouls and, Hull City aside, he seems on a different frequency to the rest of the team at times. To be fair, so was Yang yesterday, so it's definitely not just him. Now, I actually like Alfie, I want him to succeed, but I'm pretty conflicted about where he is currently. Is it that he is being used incorrectly, his age / experience or is he not what I'm hoping for? I don't think he's the messiah buy I'm not convinced he's just a naughty boy either. Where are you with Alfie? |
 | Forum Thread | The Formation v Watford at 18:50 1 Jan 2025
Was this the first time this season that we have seen Marti set the team up in his preferred 433 formation? We saw two fullbacks operating as nature intended, a three man midfield of Varane, Morgan and Field with a flexible front three of Frey beating the daylights out of people with Chair and Smyth in support. Is this what he meant all along? Because, if so, I like it. With senior players returning and injuries being managed, this might be the template. Thought Marti was cute giving Colback a few minutes to let the crowd know he was on his way back into contention. |

Today, we were shithouse adjacent. We could see the shithouse and, lo, it was fcuking rank. Hope we fumigate HQ before the next match - they stunk out the joint like Scooby Doo's xmas dump. |

Have just written 'QPR' in big letters in the condensation on my colleague's window just before his next lesson. Heh, heh, heh... Fiendish. Master criminal... |
 | Forum Thread | Ratting at 21:30 9 Dec 2024
Serious(ish) question but was Saturday the first time we've seen the 'high press' in action this season? I felt that we out-ratted them across the park - significantly higher up the field than the Watford game. This felt like a callback to the back end of last season, where we just throttled the opposition and won the ball back before they got into gear. On Saturday, Norwich never found their feet and it suited us. To circle back to my point, was that the first time we've achieved that this season? |
