When Jim was recruiting new players during the summer I personally thought that the recruitment of a new goalkeeper was of major importance. When I read that we had signed a 17 year old from Man City on a seasons loan I did not think that this was a wise decision. There is such a difference in playing Academy football to the rigors of The National League and I thought the step up would be too much. How wrong was I. Whatmuff is one of the best keepers I have seen for Rochdale and whoever initiated the move deserves a medal. He is such a competent, cool, composed keeper and has brought such a calmness to our defence. What a signing!!! If his progress continues he will have a stellar career. By the way does anyone know if he is left or right footed because he kicks just as well with either? |

I find this loan transfer very strange. How are we benefiting? We are not getting a transfer fee and losing a squad member. I thought Edwards was excellent in his few games at the end of last season and expected he would be a vital member of the squad this season. Clearly there are reasons but what are they? |

Whilst I didn't agree with the decision to make so many changes at Brackley to have 15 points from the first 6 games and be top of the league is fantastic. Ironically despite that decision by Jim he is likely to be awarded Manager of The Month for August. All in all well deserved. |

Totally agree with all your comments. Everything seemed much more professional The atmosphere today was brilliant. It is always so much more enjoyable to watch a winning team with the supporters fully behind them. Long may it continue. |

No Gilmour or Rodney. Are they the players that could possibly be leaving? |

Roland Bergkamp on loan in 2011 and Kangana Lord on loan in 2004. Both 6 ft 5 ins. They played 5 games and 1 game respectively. No goals between them. I think I am being kind when I say neither impressed. I'm sure Kangana was substituted pretty early on in his one game and sent back to his parent club. His Wikipedia states he played for 13 clubs and for 12 of them the most he played was 4 games. Oldham was one of the other teams. In total during his career he played 28 games and scored once. Fair to say he may qualify as the worst player ever for Rochdale though I stand to be corrected. |

This would be a good signing. A 6 foot 5 inch forward that would give defenders plenty to deal with. He's a proven performer at National League level. |

After what has happened recently yesterday was the tonic we needed. The football was so much better. There was less sideways passing, more attacking intent and some proper old style defending. We looked so much better for it all. Some great individual performances, Edwards is a real find. Where has he been all season? Fingers crossed this carries on for the remaining games, if it does it gives us some hope. PS I only counted 11 in the away end. All credit to them for making the long journey. It was a bit funny at the end though when the Eastleigh players came over at the end of the match to applaud them. 9 fans had made a quick exit and the other 2 didn't notice the players |

This guy makes you smile. He must be a real asset in the changing room. On performances alone he deserves a new contract. Glad he's staying. |

Agree, Hogan has been an excellent signing. I would however say his defending is much better than his distribution. He was my MOM last night and I'm sure it was good for Kingdon to have someone with Hogan's experience alongside him. |

I've looked on line at some pictures from the Hornets game and the pitch looked fine. However obviously it was hard to gauge how it was at the end of the match or in the areas that were poor before the game started. |

Have to say i totally agree. The 2nd half was a joy to watch. It shows that when we attack teams we have the fire power to tear them apart. |

Personally I think it is an excellent update from the Club and enough information to take in for the majority of supporters. It does feel that the Club want to tell the fans more but can't for whatever reason i.e. Legal I do have faith that under the guidance of the new owners the matter will ultimately be resolved. Perhaps at that time the full story will be revealed. |

I thought Henry had already returned. Its a shame because at times he looked good. Certainly could strike a ball well. Can't really comment about Penney as I never saw him play for us. Not sure midfield is area where we need further replacements at the moment. |

I have to admit I was very dismissive of this competition when the details were originally announced. However credit has to be given to the club for how it has promoted this game and the interest generated. I personally won't be travelling across from Yorkshire for the match but I do hope that it is a great night and that people attending for the first time might be tempted to return in the future. |

Eight of these players are out injured so our squad is not exactly high in numbers. |
 | Forum Reply | Two more signings at 15:25 1 Nov 2024
On the face of it these appear to be 2 good signings. My only worry is that tomorrow we will learn that one or more of the injured players will be out for longer than originally expected. Looking at the positions of the new signings then I am worried we will not see TAR or Rodney for a a bit longer. On another subject whatever happened to the link up with Man Utd where we were supposed to receive promising youngsters such as the likes of Sam Murray and Sam Mather. |
