It was class wasn’t it. The biggest thing for me was how in control we were, which is so Un-QPR like |

As I’m sure has been said elsewhere, him and Vale changed the game when they came on Best thing about the goal was that he started the move with some classy play in midfield, which shows how he is still improving |

I agree with everything you said, except dropping Morrison, he is unbelievably good It’s Mbengue who needs to force his way back in imo |

I was there today and was moaning that he didn’t make changes earlier… He then won the game with his sub timings to prove why he’s the manager and I’m not He’s doing a great job |

He’s not like Caulker, he must be absolutely gutted to be so injury prone. But then if he wasn’t he wouldn’t be at QPR and those are the gambles we take. I feel sorry for him but it’s ridiculous he’s one of our top earners, albeit not his fault. Would love to see him and Morrison build a partnership but I doubt it will ever happen. Shame for us and shame for JCS |

That was the main thing to me, we know he can pass the ball, we know he’s got a lovely first touch, but off the ball he was excellent, after being nonexistent last season. I counted three really key interceptions in the first 15mins. Really pleased for him, and us! |

The nutmeg on the SA Road side of the ground towards the end was sublime. He’s brilliant. |

Totally agree. He can knock his first touch a bit further away than most players due to his speed. Today his touch almost lures the goalie, who then realises he can’t get there in time and ends up looking hesitant and then dinked. Not a bad first touch if he causes havoc and catches up with it |

Surprising that judging a new manager after 3 games, which most of us did, without a finalised team, was kneejerkly premature He obviously knows what he’s doing and I think the variety shown so far this season is really impressive Looking forward to seeing what he can do with our best squad in ages |

He’s so effective as is just obsessed with defending, which sometimes gets forgotten is the main job of a centre back! Bit like this nonsense of buying a goalie for their skills with their feet rather than their hands! He’s also a more than decent forward passer. Great signing by the club and he’s very much growing into being our defensive leader. |

Don’t think anyone really gets dropped nowadays, squad rotation is such a key part of the modern game. If it was the playoff final, he’d be in the team and deservedly so. |

Mbengue isn’t perfect but the amount of loose balls he cleared in our box was exceptional. I’m ok with a defender just being good at the dirty side of the game |

Why do we sign players on 2/3 year deals then put them on the market?? I get the not wanting to let them move for free but isn’t it more important to have a settled team?? Modern football is bonkers |

No way he plays tomorrow if they’ve accepted a bid for him |

Totally agree, but it’s absolutely mental that a bunch of professional athletes can’t be in top shape for the start of the season. And if not top shape then at least as fit as our opponents |

Great report, love the reminder that it’s very early in the season and us fans have a big part to play in lifting the team. Madsen seems to suffer from the ‘Ozils’ - obviously he is nowhere that level but he looks like he isn’t trying when of course he is. Think he’ll be out the team pretty soon but I don’t agree with jeering him off the pitch. |
 | Forum Thread | ITK - annoying but interesting… at 11:41 30 Jul 2025
Hi - although everyone dislikes supposed ITK posters, especially with some of the pro-board PR bots on here recently, I did want to share some info on here that may be of interest, even though both subjects have been done to death! Marti - a friend was part of the Leicester interview process. According to Marti, the gardening leave came about from a complete breakdown between him and Nourry. He knew he would be going this summer hence his agent touting him for other Championship jobs. He went into the process as 4/5th favorite but interviewed so well and impressed LCFC so much with his pitch that he jumped to the top of the queue. They’ve gone for him as they really need to unite their fan base and they think he did that here and will do it there. Kelman - was always going to leave this summer as he didn’t want to come back to QPR and sit on the bench or be rotated. I’ve heard him on speakerphone putting on a cod French accent and slagging the new gaffer off, so we’re better off without him. Charlton actually put a bid in straight away after the playoff final,so surprised it took so long. Anyway, thought it was interesting to share, personally looking forward to the new season, but I feel like that every July! |
