A couple of the callers from my comment also mentioned that they had been on the Iraq war march back in the Blair days and stated that numbers were of similar scale. It’s difficult to say based our media reports who is right. I would expect the BBC & Sky to fall in line with underestimations though and align with the Met Police. A lot of Heddlu wagons on the M4 on the way back yesterday too.

Listening to the radio yesterday while travelling, quite a few callers who were trying to attend the march all claimed at least 1,000,000 in attendance. Also heard that the police closed Westminster bridge & Blackfriars bridge due to sheer numbers of people. Tens of thousands couldn’t even get across the bridges & were turned back.

Someone somewhere has decided the media coverage should be limited. What we got on the BBC News last night was a feature on the state of hospitals under the Taliban in Afghanistan. Farcical.

Much as I enjoy the persona of Big Ange & his press conferences, let’s hope his suicide football approach gets tried against us. Probably our best chance of getting a result if he tries to introduce his style straight away

Germany v NI

I watched the first half and the NI pressing had Germany in all sorts of bother. Galbraith was pretty anonymous in both halves to be honest & got subbed off earlyish in the second half when losing 3-1

He may have been all that but he had a couple of good seasons at Spurs before Mourinho finished him. If anything Mourinho is probably a contributor to the causes of his mental health issues.James McClean has never been a good player & a disgrace of a human being

Has to be right up there as one of the club’s finest transfer windows. Only Laudrup’s first season comes close. As many have already said it’s high time the commercial department started making progress & understanding the fans needs. The only downside was missing out on O’Brien to …Wrexham of all clubs - that will bug me until we can get the double done on them.

If Sheehan continues to get the players to deliver, crowds will improve

I find the whole leave until the last hour of the window totally bizarre. Perhaps a change of time like ending the windows at mid-day may make a difference. The paperwork would effectively need to be completed the day before allowing a few hours in the morning to revisit any issues. Just a ridiculous way to run a multi million pound business at any level

That includes your house value, unused private pension, etc. As stated you need to have your paperwork & Will in good order. You need to be careful in Spain too - the taxes on Brits since Brexit have increased significantly especially for non residents, non EU citizens etc

Some interesting detail in that link, some of which I had forgotten. Successive governments have been freezing limits & you can bet your life this government will be making it even more difficult & complicated. Bottom line is that more & more people are going to fall into the inheritance tax trap if they do not plan efficiently

Swansea City in talks

I think that’s the way it has worked for quite some time now. It’s how we ended up getting Bony & Ayew back. Club couldn’t afford any big signings so used some of the money owed to them to take the players back

Latest Swansea City transfer situation : Thursday evening - Idah etc

“… are the club getting desperate to satisfy these striker demands from the fans ?“

I don’t believe the club are seriously feeling pressured by the fans. That is just not the way a professional club should be operating. I do believe that Sheehan, Montague & co have identified that we are desperate for some quality up top. If there is pressure it is being generated from within the organisation.

I recall that Vip was recruited this time last season. The fact that he was available on a free transfer made him look more attractive than he has turned out. We were desperate for a striker then & we are still desperate now. Hopefully due diligence will be applied even with the deadline looming. A loan may be the way to go if the quality is available

Many kids are getting degrees these days using AI to complete ‘their’ coursework. Most certain that it will be without reference or credits to their sources.

Great for the club for Guehi to mention his mentors (Routledge & Dyer) when at the Swans. Oddly he never mentioned Steve Cooper in the bit that I watched …

Ospreys to move out of the Swansea.com?
at 17:50 21 Aug 2025

This is beginning to look like the route to applying for places in the English Premiership.

The only way crowds will start watching clubs that are forced to merge will be when they start winning matches, with regular Saturday afternoon home and away fixtures that fans will travel to.

Aside from tv broadcasting, the regions agreed at the outset that they would not play on Saturday afternoons as it would affect all other rugby clubs up and down the country. Putting an east & west side in the URC is just a waste of time & will be a lost opportunity.
