That doesn’t explain why you think the Lions is a poor team

Australia’s recent results have been poor & for sure they are relatively lowly ranked amongst southern hemisphere nations. Not sure how you can call the Lions a poor side, the best players from Britain & Ireland starting to gel nicely as a group. Some decent performances & getting better. Lions should win the series comfortably but Australia are more than capable of putting in some decent performances

Some line up that … saw SLF way back in the day at the Glen Ballroom in Llanelli & the Undertones in Swansea Top Rank.

Who’s in the Pistols line up ? … Lydon, Matlock, Jones & Cook ?

Tour de France

This should be a real battle as both Pogacar & Vingegaard have completed their preps without crashing & having to carry injuries in to the Tour. Pogacar beat him comfortably in the Dauphine & has the stronger climbing team.

The Yates twins up against each other on domestique duties will be interesting & Geraint’s last TdF makes it feel like the end of an era. Big mountain stages don’t kick in until stage 10.

Just hope it’s not decided on TT stages

So tragic at such a young age for everyone connected to the families & people who know them.

Spanish roads are generally in way better condition than UK roads - that’s main highways & side roads. Always seen people working the roads out there filling potholes, painting, barrier maintenance etc. Don’t hear much at all about blowouts or tyre failures these days

Swansea City : A tale of two Olivers plus O’Brien - latest news

Plays with his back to the opposition, takes the easy option (negative backward passies), fails to make himself available for team mates looking for a pass. Not afraid to put a foot in or foul the opposition to stop them. He can be a liability & we need much better if we are going to see progress. Well past his sell by date.

Saw Stevie Wonder at the Vetch all those years ago (1983 ?) - my main memory was how he played hit after hit after hit in his set. Bit like Rod Stewart at Glastonbury, you just forget how many hits these guys have had. Like so many others, still wondering how an 80 year old outshone all the headliners.

For McBurnie to thrive (or Vipotnik or Yates or Cullen) we need players capable of creating more opportunities for them. For creative players to thrive we need a solid midfield base. Both Allen & O’Brien need to be effectively replaced as a priority. Maybe McBurnie could be the answer but it’s all all a bit underwhelming if he is the marquee signing target for me. Lots more work to be done.

Rubbish collections
at 16:48 27 Jun 2025

Well the Senedd has to find a way to pay for all the extra AMs somehow.

Got a mate with a place in Spain - when I rented his house a few years ago he told me about the rubbish & recycling process out there. Basically, his street has a number of communal bins, recyclable & non recyclables in an alley just down the road. You take your waste down there when your bins are full. The black bags get collected EVERY week day in the summer. And the council tax is about 20% of what we pay in Swansea. The inefficiencies of public services in this country is astounding

Harry Darling & Lewis O’Brien

If the club can’t entice O’Brien his role still needs filling in central midfield. Someone with a bit of steel (not Fulton), some guile (definitely not Fulton), some skill, creativity, most importantly some experience in the cut & thrust of the Championship or EPL. I would argue this position is vital to being competitive, more important than a striker in our priorities

Hopefully Burgess can more than fill Darling’s boots

Below par performance by the Lions. Argentina were ruthless taking just about every chance they had to score. Some very average players in that Lions squad. It turns out that Wales hookers are not the only ones who can’t hit their man in a line out. Lions will improve.

If the Aussies are as as poor as you say what odds on a clean sweep for the Lions in the test series ?

I also think that AMs are probably even worse once they are on the gravy train in the bay. I think all MPs & AMs should be limited to 2 or 3 terms in office. They need to focus on achieving some goals in that time instead of making a career out doing next to nothing for their electorate

Most MPs are totally out of touch with their constituents and will often follow the best path to enhance their careers when voting . In fact most don’t give a toss about actually representing the needs of their constituencies at all

I can remember feeling positive the season that Cusack was given the reins. There were loads of new signings in the close season that got many more than a bit intrigued on what was happening. We all know what happened next. Think I’ll reserve judgement until about 10 games in to the season.

A totally different feeling getting so many deals done early. Still need the marquee signings though - O’Brien & a striker still required.
