Rangers Supporters Are Not Enthused By The Appointment Of Russell Martin
at 18:39:59

Martin was a rotten manager who frankly didn't have clue. We got promotion despite Martin with a squad that should have qualified automatically. If Martin continues as he did at St Mary's, it's not just Celtic that Rangers will have trouble with, it's any team that presses with confidence. I predict he'll be out by November if not before. I can't fathom how anybody sees any point in his style of football unless you have world class players.

Returning Goztepe Loanee Might Save Southampton Millions
at 11:02:27

it is about finding potential players and testing them at Goztepe in the Turkish top flight and then seeing if they are good enough to progress to England.

Nice idea, I look forward to there being any proof in this comment. Presently, it seems as if there's no credible evidence to this idea.
As for developing players at sister clubs, there's also no evidence that this could be any better than our previous system. Don't forget we're poached youngsters from around the country as well, especially London.
Talking about 'assists' I think you've given SR one here Nick. Southampton FC need to concentrate on Southampton FC as far as I'm concerned.
Neverthetheless, well have to endure the nonsense for the next few years to see if it is actually worthwhile. Personally I think it's fundamentally a financial ruse for SR (and similar ownerships - some of whom have got lucky admittedly. We're a long way off from getting that lucky and is it luck or is it better organisation and management of those clubs?).

Johannes Spors Shakes Up Southampton Backroom Team
at 12:15:52

I'd like to find out: how much money SR have extracted from Southampton FC; their wages and what exactly they believe they have given to The Club in entirety? I think the fans should know - it seems as if companies/people like this are a law unto themselves and have very little genuine accountability. At Corporate level it's all about destroying a culture, passing the buck and moving on heavily enriched.

Southampton At Tottenham Hotspur The Preview

" A couple of forced changes.Aribo to replace Downes and Archer to replace Tall Paul
If he fiddles with more than that he'll deserve to get beat
Long time since we won away to Spuds so perhaps it's due"

I'd agree with Bowlercow but hoping Juric will apply commonsense is a bit like hoping we'll stay up this season.

Ivan Juric Positioning Himself To Continue In Southampton Job
at 15:36:16

Since Koeman, that's 10 years ago, the owners have just failed their duties and responsibilities and chosen managers incapable of long term consistency: get rid of the ownership and Juric now!

We can't recover as a club until we have owners fully committed behind our club and that makes for a terrible time supporting the club. Even though the fanbase is still solid now if this carries on for a few years the fans will drift away.

Kamari Doyle The Southampton Starlet Who Found The Grass Not To Be Greener At Brighton
at 11:45:42

Keep saying it, but reduce the number of match day squad and substitutes and re-introduced a reserve league thus helping players reach a step closer to first team football; injured or unfit, or out of favour, players recuperate or readjust. If they can't perform at that level, it's clearer that they're not going to perform at first team level.

Excessive money of course means logic, common sense or fairness are ignored and not often applied. Anything to help the smaller clubs is dismissed. A big reason that Saints could compete in the 70's, 80's was having a reserve team to bring the players like Mills, Holmes, Williams, Waldron, Shearer, Dodd, Moran, the Wallace brothers and Le Tissier through. Those were the days!

Why bring in less experienced players? It doesn't make sense. Stick with what we've got and possibly bring in a goal scorer on loan.

Gavin Bazunu To Go Out On Loan To Regain Match Fitness
at 09:46:41

Bazunu was a poor keeper and was pretty much guaranteed to make an error or two in any game where the opposition had concentrated pressure on his goal.
He was not good enough, in reality, for either The Championship or The Premier and unless there are miraculous improvements, I can't see that changing. In the previous Championship campaign teams were rarely good enough to be that much of a threat in front of goal.
Ramsdale sets the bench mark (even though he hasn't been very good lately) and Bazunu is nowhere near that.
He may be a decent young man, and I genuinely wish him all the best, but if blunt honesty and being a stalwart Saints fan excludes niceties; I agree with former commenter, Bazunu is one of the worst keepers I've seen at Saints in 50 years.

Saints Confirm That Ben Brereton Diaz Will Rejoin Former Club

I do wonder whether he might make a central midfielder given that he's an aggresive tough character. I would have tried him out in that position. It worked with joe Linton who was also formerly useless as a forward.

Sulemana To Stay At Southampton ! Amo-Ameyaw To Go Out On Loan
at 10:02:20

Sulemana plays on the left and Sam plays on the right - there's no competition here. Agreed that Sam should have been given/ should have more opportunities. I'd keep him and play him more regularly but a loan until the end of the season would be OK . Juric does seem to play too lopsidedly without a serious threat down the righthand side.

Keep getting the crosses in and Archer and Onuachu should deliver a few goals. Big Les Ugochukwu in the middle and Lallana to complement. There we've got a good foundation. Might as well hope for the best, win a few games and build for next year.

Bella-Kotchap Speaks About Southampton Future
at 11:44:20

I thought, and was told 'online', that Armel had a heart condition and that's why he was rejected by Hoffenheim (after a medical). If that's the case, maybe that's why he wasn't picked or attracted any transfer attention. Strange that Nick, or anyone else, doesn't mention this.
Does he have a health problem or not?

Southampton V Tottenham Hotspur The Verdict

Moyes would at least make us harder to beat, stop mucking about at the back, select round pegs for round holes, get us a few positive results and bring a bit of cheer back to the club. With the backing of SR and him deciding who comes and goes, would make us a side more capable of getting out of the Championship and getting back with a side capable of competing.
