The main thing that WS has learnt from this game is that the club has " Quantity & not Quality ". That is not WS's fault he's still trying to determine those that are good enough & those that aren't. He can only work with what he's got until we hopefully get rid of a few & bring in some fresh faces.
I think a lot of people are judging Will by his looks & not by his ability. OK he's not a Premier Lge player but he's a more than adequate Championship player.
I'm sure that Flynn Downes has an attitude problem, he just continues to commit silly reckless unnecessary challenges. He always looks if he's on a mission to be the first player in the book, he's a sending off waiting to happen. I don't think he's that good either, both him & Harwood Bellis think they are better than they are.
Unless he grows up & gets his act together he's of no use to us. Just one player in a team that's not pulling his weight & sweating blood can have a negative impact on the rest of the players. I can see him still being here when the window closes & not getting regular football here. What will he be worth then, not a lot.
I've just listened to WS's pre match interview before the Northampton game. He looks & sounds absolutely shattered & fed up. Perhaps that's just his demeanour but it's not exactly inspiring.
Flynn Downes always looks as if he's on a mission to get booked. He commits really crazy unnecessary fouls straight from kick off. He's a sending off waiting to happen. He needs a good talking too by WS.
Just a shame that we had to rely on two defenders to score & win the game for us. The front players have to contribute more. I would not be disappointed if Adam Armstrong went, he just snatches at everything & has no vision of what's going on around him. We would not miss him both Archer & Diaz are better than Arma.
I thought Edwards was very dodgy today. Quarsie looked as if he was carrying an injury late in the game & limping, hopefully just cramp because he looks useful. Didn't think I'd ever say it but Jack was our best defender today & then he wins the game for us. Makes a change to win a game in last minute instead of losing it in last minute like last season.
Not surprising that we fail to attract decent players when the message from the technical Director is that we can't compete in the Premier lge. Right we might not be able to compete with the top six Premier clubs financially but there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be able to compete the rest. Spors comment about having to rely on the revenue from Season Tickets is valid but our income from Season Tickets & Gate receipts far exceeds the likes of Bournemouth / Fulham and others & look what they have achieved. OK it's not likely that those clubs can sustain their status in Premier Lge indefinitely but that applies to all clubs. Come on Spors try putting an optimistic spin on the state of our once great club. Make us proud again.
Spors made it very clear that it is him that decides what players come & what players go. (Re- Slack Jack). Of course he should have input into those decisions but surely the Manager should have the final say. I feel for Will Still having to work under Spors Dictatorship. I wish him & his team well but fear the worst under the current ownership.
Yes. Being a Premier Lge player. All of them grossly overpaid on ridiculous salaries. Most of them being paid more for one week than the Prime Minister gets on a whole year. I know which job I'd rather have.
That's the Spine of their team nearly sorted. Goalie + Ctr back + CTR Forward. Not sure who they have ctr midfield. We don't even know any of our team :- a) Who will start in Goal b) Who's first choice ctr back. c) Who's our central midfield player d) Who is going to lead the line up front. In fact we don't know Who's going to start in any position. But I guess Slack Jack is the first name on the team sheet.
