I had totally overlooked that we had only won 3 of our last 43 lge games.

Let's not forget that we have Ross Stewart we bought in the belief he was one of the best strikers in the Championship.
If he stays fit & gets regular game time he just could be our main striker. |

On Saturday Roy Keane had a full length grey beard.
Tonight it's all gone, he's clean shaven.

If he was playing that well against Germany why would he have been substituted.
Just an observation , I actually think he's a half decent player & has been one of our best performers so far this season. |

Your comment about SR owning inferior clubs " it gives us the chance to offload players that are not good enough".
Why do we buy players that are not good enough, we've had far too many of them. |

I watched that documentary last night about the Pro Footballers being victims of fraud, but not enough evidence to charge the two sharks that did it.
Shame to see that the Wallace brothers were caught up in it, that family haven't had much luck with poor Danny suffering MS. [Post edited 3 Sep 15:43]

If I remember right, we looked at buying Josh Brownhill from Burnley a couple of years ago.
He'd have cost us a few bob then so as others have said could be a useful squad player for us on a freebie. |

Think you've hit the nail on the head regarding who plays alongside THB.
I'm not convinced about him & think that he was carried by Bedders when they played together.
We don't have a Bedders to cover for THB anymore & in the early games we've had it shows because THB has looked very poor. [Post edited 2 Sep 19:37]

The club needs at least 2 players to cover each position, so that's why they have brought in those players in this transfer window.
The two positions that we have multiple cover are at ctr back & striker.
We have 4 genuine ctr backs & a couple of others that can cover that position.
Up front we had 5 so called strikers ( albeit Diaz has just gone so we're down to 4).
Problem we have at both ctr back & striker we have quantity & no quality. |

Thought my post would have the desired affect & get a response from you Nick.
I was not saying that any of the players that we brought in are any better or any worse than the ones that have left.
But I would argue that we lose a first choice keeper & replace him with a 3rd choice keeper.
A 1st choice keeper should have been brought in & Baz + Macca moved down the pecking order. |

You're right Grumps, it will take time to sort out.
But, we have the same problems as last season.
Poor Goal keeper.
No leadership at the back.
No decent holding central midfield player.
No target man up front that can score regularly
None of these problems have been resolved despite bringing in lots of new faces. |

Whatever you do, don't look at todays Championship Table.
Our friends from Portsmouth are above us.
They have 7 points & we only have 5.
Not a great start for a club that is regarded as a favourite to get promoted.
I know it's early doors & as they say " it's a marathon & not a Sprint".

No way are they getting a new keeper, they've signed the Norwich keeper as back up & we have 3 keepers.
McCarthy is a better keeper than Baz.
Macca makes more saves than Baz & keeps the ball out of the net which is the role of a keeper.
Baz is so easily beaten.
Macca was crucial in our promotion run when we got promoted, I'm not convinced we'd have got promoted if Baz had played in those crucial matches.
I'm not saying Macca is great but you don't have to be better than Baz. [Post edited 30 Aug 17:09]
