JWP got away with it thanks to Oriel Romeu doing all of his dirty work for him.

Rory (not Liam) was worth 7M just for his long throws, better than corners.
Imagine that Rory Delap taking a long throw with Tall Paul on the end of it, might not be pretty but would be pretty effective. |

Seems to be a trend these days, lots of players playing with socks down & no shin pads.
Shin pads do give some protection against minor knocks but I can speak from experience, they don't stop broken legs, my shin pad snapped at the same time as my Tibia & Fibula.
Another thing I've noticed is the number of players that can't play without having a bandage on their hand or wrist.
I can't believe that they all have injured their wrist playing football, might be something that they do when not playing. [Post edited 15 Jul 11:38]

I think you've nailed it.
TD was just a flash in the pan, he's not nearly as good as he thinks he is.
How many good games has he had , two at the most, the rest of the time he's been a passenger.
We've over hyped him obviously to raise his profile / value, I don't think a Premier Club will come in for him unless he's a freebie. |

Personally I can't be bothered even commenting on the Skack Jack contract extension.
But I thought we were trying freshen up the squad with some new blood, just hope that he's relieved of his club captaincy, just because he's been with us as long as we can remember doesn't mean that he's a good captain / example.

I'm not embarrassed to say that the very first single I bought was Needles & Pins by The Searchers.
My first live Gig was the late John Miles on his " More Miles per Hour " tour.
He was absolutely brilliant so underrated & his single " Music" is a timeless classic. |

I know many will be glad to see the back of both Tall Paul & Sulemane but the reality of it is that we have sold our two best forwards.
We know that neither have had a great time since they've been with us but they were our biggest & on occasions our only threat going forward.
I just hope SR know what they are doing & spend the incoming transfer fees wisely.
No more players with a history of injuries hopefully get some that know where the goal is.

I think we are all guilty of pre-judging players & coaches.
But I did think it to be a strange choice by SR appointing WS as our new coach.
But history tells us that SR have been guilty of making very strange decisions.
I just hope that they've got it right this time & WS turns out better than the previous coaches we've had.
Only time will tell, so let's give him that time before we judge him. |

Im still not convinced about Harwood Bellis.
I thought he was poor last season, he still doesn't look comfortable playing in Premier Lge, but OK in Championship.
He was guilty of far too many mistakes which is typical of our defence.
How he got into the Full England team I do not know. (& scored).
But so many players get into the England team so easily now. It's a case of if you wear size nine boots, you're in. |

Neil Young is a bit of an acquired taste
& I'm not really a fan but I thought it was a good session, very hypnotic.
No doubting they are great musicians.
Favourite act so far has to be Jarvis Cocker & Pulp.
Doesn't take himself too serious but very entertaining.
Most other acts are instantly forgettable.
That's the beauty of recording & watching after the event, you can just by pass the rubbish. |
