I like Frey, especially when he comes on as sub, full of energy and aggression. A real handful for defenders when he’s at his best. Didn’t he notch up nine goals last season, which is not to be sniffed at!

Best Home Performance In A Long While

Very impressed today with how well drilled the team were, keeping their shape in the first half while soaking up the pressure. I was among those sceptical of JS at first but today we looked well organised. As for Saito, well where do I start. Every defender’s nightmare and plays with a smile on his face, even when he was fouled. I liked JS’s post match interview too. Crowd was great, you can see the players love celebrating with the fans. Stoke looked totally dejected at the end, but had the good grace to shake hands after a very physical game. Good to see Gerry Francis and the 70s boys at half time. It’s early days, but let’s enjoy the moment.

Jimmy deserves the armband, but no disrespect to Cook, who’s a great pro and will hopefully understand that we all want to see them playing side by side again as soon as possible.
