Odd their keeper took the penalty that would have put them through. It might have been always planned that way but if they changed it because she saved 3 (pretty poor) England penalties and scoring the winner was a fairy-tale ending, that rather backfired. Straight out of the Kerry Dixon school of "try and hit top bins on the right but lean back so much you hit Q block" |

What will interest me is how he sets them up to play. Tippy-tappy from the back? Pack the midfield with reducer-merchants? High press from the front? In two years with us I'm none the wiser as to his "preferred" style and I'm not sure if that's down to him or the game model. |

I'd honestly never heard of DAZN before this nonsense started and spent the last fortnight wondering how and why on God's green earth they'd ponied up $1bn for the rights to a tournament not even Amazon Prime were bothered to bid for and then stream it for free. This now makes a lot of sense. |

It's triggering me on so many levels and we've not done the warm up. |

Furlong was a free signing, scored on literally his first game for us and went on to top-score with another dozen or so that season. Helguson scored 3 or 4 in his 10 games as an emergency loan before we signed him and was probably the only player to emerge from our initial Premier league season with any credit. Leaving the stats aside, both players had an almost homicidal desire to physically dominate the defenders they played against. Neither was the fastest or most skillful but they were strong and hard as coffin nails and used that strength ruthlessly. The only difference for me was Furs played with a smile while Helguson was a lot more businesslike. I'll give Celar time as long as he's a Rangers player but i don't think anyone will ever be comparing him to Furlong or Helguson. |

Sounds great but how did you train people - as in classroom-style multi-day training? Or things like design workshops and architecture sessions? Fly them in and put them up? I'm asking as I used to travel around Europe doing that and now it's almost exclusively remote via Teams. The customer is still paying the same rate for my time and my employer must have saved millions on T&E (my expenses alone were often a couple of grand a month). To E17s point it can also be pretty demoralising being the presenter of a remote workshop. I have no cues to tell me if I'm going too fast, too slow, if anyone's passing attention or getting what I'm trying to tell them. Half the attendees could be lying in bed for all I know and putting "brb" in the chat is just a more socially acceptable way of saying "I'm off for a shìt" [Post edited 10 Jul 12:14]

Well I worked for MFI for a while and when I was asked on dates what I did for a living I said it very quickly like "I'm-at-MI5" - defending our country from Soviet spies is waaay more sexy than defending our country from substandard Taiwanese bin-cupboard hinges. [Post edited 9 Jul 22:19]

39 year old Luka Modric has put in more yards in 10 minutes than most of his team mates. Reminds me of Ryan Nelsen bursting his bóllocks to get to balls with knees held together with chinking mortar and faith while everyone else was having a stroll. |

PSG administering a rather comprehensive gob-bumming to (the mighty) Real Madrid and I'm actually quite glad. I'll possibly come to loathe PSG again but it's refreshing to see their team of unheralded young park footballers / expensively-assembled puppy-farm grads (delete as appropriate) running rings around another team through hard work and aggressive pressing. |

Have you considered falconry? Not only is it an effective means of pigeon control (falcons are like fùcking feathery smart-bombs to pigeons) you can pretend to be King Frederick II of Hohenstaufen in your spare time. |

Yeah, about that. I'm almost certain we've started seasons forgetting to register players, players owned by 3rd parties, players owned by fans, fans owned by players and just about every permutation in between. |

Neither did the bookies as they were 12/1 before the game. All credit to Dublin but Limerick were miles off it and looked like they were playing a different sport to the team that beat Cork a month ago. If Tipp win they'll be insufferable and I can see Limerick moving somewhere further west to get away from them. Nova Scotia ought to do it. Kilkenny for the win. |

I've just asked my wife her views on this and she says she just likes watching men with big thighs so maybe it's not all that deep. |

All credit to Argentina but I thought the Lions lacked intensity. Small things but the anthems started and they're in a line, focused - the lions are cuddling mascots and taking photos. Half time everyone's doing their own thing in the dressing room - Argentina are stood to attention by lockers listening to their coach. And I just cannot abide players throwing chicken wing passes (mainly because I'm not good enough to). |

At 15, I always had nicknames for everyone in that squad - Macca, Bards, Willo, Ray (no nickname there son), Ollie, Royston, etc. I went to a hospitality game and there was Andy, getting involved. I told him exactly what I've put above and he says (in the most lyrical Middlesbrough accent) "Well what did you call me?" I goes "Sinners" and 35 years I'm not sure if he's happy or not 🤷♂️ Probably the best winger I've ever seen at Rangers. |
