Kerry taking a page out of QPR's "play out from the back with Janet and John" playbook... [sadtrombone] |

Have you considered falconry? Not only is it an effective means of pigeon control (falcons are like fùcking feathery smart-bombs to pigeons) you can pretend to be King Frederick II of Hohenstaufen in your spare time. |

Yeah, about that. I'm almost certain we've started seasons forgetting to register players, players owned by 3rd parties, players owned by fans, fans owned by players and just about every permutation in between. |

Neither did the bookies as they were 12/1 before the game. All credit to Dublin but Limerick were miles off it and looked like they were playing a different sport to the team that beat Cork a month ago. If Tipp win they'll be insufferable and I can see Limerick moving somewhere further west to get away from them. Nova Scotia ought to do it. Kilkenny for the win. |

I've just asked my wife her views on this and she says she just likes watching men with big thighs so maybe it's not all that deep. |

All credit to Argentina but I thought the Lions lacked intensity. Small things but the anthems started and they're in a line, focused - the lions are cuddling mascots and taking photos. Half time everyone's doing their own thing in the dressing room - Argentina are stood to attention by lockers listening to their coach. And I just cannot abide players throwing chicken wing passes (mainly because I'm not good enough to). |

Can't see a thread and watching the warmup. They might struggle... |

At 15, I always had nicknames for everyone in that squad - Macca, Bards, Willo, Ray (no nickname there son), Ollie, Royston, etc. I went to a hospitality game and there was Andy, getting involved. I told him exactly what I've put above and he says (in the most lyrical Middlesbrough accent) "Well what did you call me?" I goes "Sinners" and 35 years I'm not sure if he's happy or not 🤷♂️ Probably the best winger I've ever seen at Rangers. |

Always liked Heskey as a striker, good hold up play, knew where the net was, hard as fùcking coffin nails. Very much like Helgusson was for us. And he scored against Germany in the 5-1 win ( although I reckon most posters here would have got a couple in that game). Anyways, Tony Daly. Possibly the fastest, most untalented man I've ever seen at Loftus Road (you're getting a massive hall pass here Tony Scully). |

Comes with permanent on-site security staff you can get Jody Morris and Des Byrne over to help you bottle if you're feeling bored. |

So utterly unmemorable I thought this was going to be about the late Northern Irish comedian whose catchphrase was "It's the way I tell 'em!" Will achieve more fame as the answer to a pub quiz question. |

Can't say I agreed with all of his views but he was a cracking thriller writer. Would put "The Fourth Protocol" and "Dogs of War" down as my favourites but whatever he wrote, it was engaging, well-dramatised and meticulously researched. RIP |

Thanks for confirming. Next time you're chatting with him can you ask him if he prefers Valencian or Marinera paella? |

And on that note, I don't normally do this on here but it's football and it's local so if anyone feels they can spare 5 minutes to support Samurai FC, you get my undying gratitude and a virtual pint (redeemable for a physical pint, in person, at QPR's next Champions League final, terms and conditions apply, always read the small print). https://www.change.org/p/stop-the-eviction-of-the-local-football-and-tennis-club |

I've worked with the BBC in a technical capacity on and off for more than 5 years. Like any large organisation, there are good people working there and bad people. However, unlike many other larger organisations, there's a pervasive level of institutional arrogance. Senior management throw around phrases like "national treasure" and "the nation's broadcaster" and fall back on royal charters and the infallibity of "the trust" (invoked with a reverence usually associated with a religion). When defunding comes back on the agenda again, pearls will be clutched far and wide but I'm almost tempted to say "fùck 'em, let's see how long they last against the streaming giants" (in my opinion: not very long). And yet... I always row back from that because without the BBC (specifically the regions), the small voice that local communities have becomes no voice. The club one of my boys plays at is being evicted by Ealing Council and made the news yesterday - and that, that right there - along with community news from Essex, Newcastle, Liverpool, Bristol, Luton (ok, not Luton) - is why I pay my license fee, not to see some sequined cùnt prancing around a ballroom in Blackpool. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002d99y/bbc-london-evening-news-07062025 (expires today 1745) |

It's a reasonable line of defence that would almost certainly have seen him acquitted if he was playing for Luton. |
