Have they though? I remember lots of frustration about this around the time Cook got injured as we had no idea what was wrong, how long he'd be out and if/when Morrison/JCS would be available. We got an update for Cook and many (myself included) saw this as a positive sign the club was listening and reacting positively. Since then, I'm not so sure. |

It might look impressive in a 70,000 seater gegenstäden but less so at HQ. We might need to update the restricted view tickets to say "50% girder/50% smoke" On the subject of jazzing things up, I remember there being a few experiments with dry ice at the Hammersmith Palais during the 90s. One night whoever was in charge of distribution either forgot or flat out didn't give a fùck that you're only supposed to discharge in 20-30 second bursts and let the entire stockpile go in a demented 7 minute blast. It was like the last days of Pompeii with people dancing into walls and knocking themselves out, tripping over those fùcking shin-height tables or falling down stairs they didn't realise were there. On the plus side you couldn't see what you were snogging so every cloud and all that... |

And would you not say that this is partly a problem of our own making? In issuing a statement, Shalke have got their spin on events into play. By not responding, QPR have allowed Shalke's version of events to stand unchallenged and therefore gain a patina of veracity. I can't see we've done anything improper here but a simple statement along the lines of "we decided this transfer was not in the club's interests" would have communicated our position perfectly. It's fine having a blanket policy of "the first rule of transfer club is we do not talk about transfer club" but it can't cover scenarios like this (e.g. some mental Teutonic 2nd-hand car dealer flinging shìt at you in public). We might or might not have acted correctly on the transfer (and I don't really care) but we've almost certainly coçked up the comms. Again. |

I'm not arguing with anything - point to anywhere I've said "you said he's worth £5m AND YOU'RE WRONG! LOL!!1!" BushRanger says he's worth £5m - fair play to him - opinion and value are subjective. But you carry on with your absolutist views and theatrical little devices like the lone *sigh* at the start of a post - I find it quite endearing. |

If you could stop her buying them in the first place that'd be even betterer 😂 |

We'll agree to disagree. I genuinely like him but for a squad as weak in both full-back spots and every midfield position, we have more pressing needs for that money. Anyhoo... a) We already own Smyth and Sutton and paid nothing for them. Saito has scored one more goal (2) than Smyth (1). Sutton is 18 and has 1 appearance from the bench. Are either worth £5m? No. Are either worth £1m? No. Can't see your point here. b) Your opinion. My missus has shoes I don't like and that's her opinion. Difference here is she pays for her shoes not me so I have no say. If we spend a phenomenal amount of money on a player I don't rate, I can and will honk about it. c) Of course, he could, in which case, I'd happily eat my words. d) If you think Lommel are letting a player with £20m upside go for a *bargain* £5m, you're clearly more itk than me. ... and back to a) - we own Jimmy Dunne and got him for almost little to no risk - what you're calling for is like putting the mortgage on the 1:50 at Kempton. |

When asked "what would be your major regret?", Richard Thompson said (emphasis mine): I think the regret is the communication with the fans. My communication wasn't good I didn't spend enough time talking to the fans, explaining my perspective. I probably felt too defensive because I think I could tell everyone thought I was too young. That's probably the biggest regret and I do wonder that if I had done better at that before 1994 then I probably would have been in a better position in 1994 to help manage that situation. I stood at home and away games chanting "we want Thompson out" and on reflection he was basically executing "the project" - buy low, sell high and try to stay competitive as a "have-not" in a league full of "haves" Credit to qprnet.com - https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/members/queensparkrangers/news/45348/richard-thomp [Post edited 15 Aug 15:35]

£2m for a position we don't really need to strengthen isn't a good deal. It's like my missus coming back from the same and saying the £100 shoes she bought reduced from £500 are a bargain (despite her having 6 pairs of identical shoes already). Change "Japan" to "Ireland" and you could just as easily be describing Jimmy Dunne. |

Regime? Last I checked Les used to be the director of football, not the prime minister of Cambodia in the 70s. The whole tenuous power balance of Manager/DoF/Board led to little to no accountability or ownership at QPR. I'd say mistakes of the past decade have been disproportionately put on Les (who made some, don't get me wrong), rather than at the feet of those higher up, which if you're one of those individuals, is exactly what you want. McLaren, Warbs and Beale being allowed to do as they pleased just cannot have been something any DoF welcomed. The biggest benefit I can see of Nourry basically writing the theme tune and singing the theme tune (his "project") is any success will accrue to him. As will any failure. I pray to my signed Roy Wegerle shirt it's more of the former than the latter. |

I wouldn't bid anything. Nice lad, tried hard but not worth the fee+wages we need to cover the other massive gaps in the squad. |

Which international break are we expecting JCS to return after? The 2026 world cup? |

We should hire him as Director of Performance. If he's not keen initially we can throw in a few flexi perks like remote working, part-time, etc. to sweeten the deal. |

It's a tender 42yrs since I sold my soul to the devil for a dime. I flirted with Spurs for a few months. It made me feel violated. [Post edited 10 Aug 13:08]

I'm not sure why they needed to simulate every match of the season 10,000 times to put us in 16th. You could ask someone who's never seen a hand before after 27 pints and they'd say the same. I'd take your hand off for 16th today though. |

She (or her agents) have big choices to make commercially this summer. She's been called the David Beckham of women's football for her brand and marketability but I'd say she's way more valuable if you consider women make (or strongly influence) purchasing decisions for a lot of big ticket consumer goods. Calvin Klein and Land Rover have signed her up and they're good up-scale brands. She's a culturally positive, relevant and authentic icon who's gonna pull down big coin and fair play to her. |
