We should get around 1500 or more tickets for Charlton?

Cheers WR.

Got them. They didn't seem to know what the problem was...

Still no joy with the 1600!

Looks like it's not recognising my JA membership...

Either that or they've all gone.

I hope so.

It's probably the easiest game for me so I expect that's the same for many others.

The two tier angle seems to be any charge or sentencing that an individual doesn’t agree with makes it ‘two tier’.

In many cases this is proved by comparing it with a completely unrelated case with no contextual information.

I had my bin collection missed yesterday.

Is there nothing Starmer can get right?

Direct quote from the report-

But in 2002, a limited number of Chagossians were granted the right to full British citizenship. Several thousand now live in the UK, incuding an expat population of 3,000 in Crawley, West Sussex
Then in November 2022, the government launched a new British nationality route which was widened to all individuals of Chagossian descent, living anywhere in the world, permitting them to be recognised as British citizens free of charge.
Adults have five years, from 23 November 2022, to claim British nationality. Children born within the five-year application time have until they are 23 to apply.

What has this got to do with Starmer?

Not for me. I’d need a lot more information.

The only thing I can base it on is the small amount of info I have from taking on councils which has been a farce.

The answers Reform are giving are simplistic.

I’d go as far as saying childlike.

The Reform Party Conference
at 10:58 11 Oct 2025

Remember when Reform campaigned on DOGE style cost cutting to save billions in waste that local councils were wasting on working from home woke DEI public servants, vegan phone boxes and all that?

Looks like reality is hitting:

When you read that list of policies it’s the mirror of what Reform are offering. Oth are ecreames a and completely undeliverable.

What I think the country could do with now is a successful moderate Conservative Party without the rubbish brought in essentially to get Brexit done.

They still seem to be a long way from any meaningful recovery.

You’re right, mate.

Sad when threads get derailed though and no doubt I’m guilty of that sometimes.

I agree with you WR but we have to approach these topics sensibly.

Look what’s happened on this thread. We’ve gone from a school having lessons as per the curriculum on Islam to child abusers within 2 and a half pages.

How on earth are we supposed to have a sensible conversation?

JoN posted on a different thread that the level of debate has shrunk on here and I think he’s right. Often because someone can’t help but light the touch paper and also because I feel its become a bit an echo chamber.

Although we have political differences one of my absolute favourite posters is Boundy. He’s principled, respectful and thoughtful. We might disagree on certain things but I’d love to have a beer with him and put the world to rights.

Unfortunately there’s are a few on both sides who find posting in the way he does difficult and that’s quite a recent thing.

I do.

But the suggestion that if you want change (or want accountability for the grooming gang scandal) the only option is Reform is bizarre.

It’s like where the term ‘Patriot’ has been bent to mean mean only one thing. It’s all simplistic nonsense.

Here’s some more rubbish:

I’m sure there’s are lots of parents and grandparents etc on here - anyone had an 8 year old relative called ‘an oppressor’ in school? I mean actual experience as opposed to a Voice of Wales style hatebait video.

Trump. Nobel Peace Prize
at 16:14 10 Oct 2025

On the surface it looks like he could be a good shout but there are a couple of issues.

Firstly the committee met on Monday before the big Trump announcement.

Secondly the provisos for winning are a little more complex than just looking at events - ‘fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses’.

Bit random that.

You think only Reform voters are concerned about child abuse?

There’s always a risk but there’s certainly benefits imo.

In this case, there’s no confirmation anything untoward has gone on. If it’s has it should be addressed but that not reason to stop visitors enhancing lessons.

Governors are amazing. I can’t think of another community volunteer role with so much responsibility and accountability.

Maybe some of those concerned parents could put themselves forward if they really want to make a difference.

However…

Put yourself back to your governor days and imagine standards in RE is under your brief.

You know the school has to teach the curriculum and that that curriculum has a unit on Islam and you go to watch a lesson.

Is that lesson (on average) better if led by the teacher who would probably be a non specialist using a textbook or a slideshow, or better if a member of the local mosque comes in, bringing in real artefacts, providing real life experiences and able to answer questions from a position of knowledge.
