Just to get back to this game. A win and we would be 3rd. Great win at Bristol today, but still have that feeling of frustration on this Oxford game. 2 week wait now.
Sort of a side question to this. With the Prem League about to announce an alternative to PSR, will this affect how the lower leagues fair play rules going forward? Or would it take a court challenge for them to be changed?
His first few games he was reluctant to bomb forward, which was understandable. Do your main job first, defend. But the last 2/3 games he has got forward a lot more. Hopefully he can keep his form up and he was probably our best all round player with Mbengue.
Still a head scratcher for me. I could understand making 5 changes if we were into the season by 20/30 plus games and had a 3 game week, but this early with an Int break after Sat? I bet they have another game behind closed doors lined up.
IMO we should of started with Burrell (only played 45 mins last time out) He stretches the pitch and brings Kone higher up the pitch with him. Madsen should of started instead of Field. An example was when he dinked a chip over the centre half for Smyth who should of cut it back to Kone on the pen spot who was free. He has better vision than our other mids to see that pass. Saito. Just more affective than Dembele. Gives more protection to the full back as well as better going forward. Hayden for Varane was ok and Cook can be relied upon. No problem with those changes.
Too many changes for me. Burrell only played 45 mins and Frey was awful when he came on. No need to bring Field in, Madsen doing fine and we lose a bit of vision in the middle. Also we have an Int break coming up. I would also have kept Saito in. I hope it works tonight but I have my doubts.
Funny though. I have never heard of him mentioning it before. The USA have used this before as well, I think twice. Definitely in 91 with Pate. No one has ever complained about it before in its 54 years of existence.
