Julien Stéphan talks dreams, transfers, and that Coventry game – Interview
at 10:36 11 Sep 2025

Great last question!

I’m not sure i agree on fitness response he gave. But overall, I really like him. He’s French and still learning English but his response on the (in)famous game model made the most sense to me. And also on how they do transfers. Also, very comforting to hear so much about “adaptation”.

What is the training ground like? I’ve only seen bits in photos. Is it impressive? Or is that an exaggeration?

Team against Wrexham

Not looking forward to watching us play against O’Brien and Sheaf in their midfield. £12m I think just on these 2. Got to be one of the better midfields in the league.

Forest sack Nuno

In fairness in the last 10 years, we’ve finished between 9th and 20th in the same league. Forest also finished 21st in the championship in the last 10 years. They are now in Europe after finishing 7th in the Premiership. Hardly comparable.

Sacked for what? Progressing too quickly? Don’t like this European football completion lark?

Didn’t realise it was his 2nd time for a trial at Wycombe. And first time in 2021 (?) they turned him down or he didn’t like it there. Couldn’t quite understand the reason.

Played full 90 mins for Jamaica in a 3-0 win. So, plus point is he’s ready to play. Unfortunately he has a game mid week too, so chances of him travelling back and being ready to start vs Wrexham are small I’d say. Think him and Varane or him and Field would have been ideal in that game.

How come highly skilled players play cr*p when they have an England shirt on !!!

You can’t judge until we play a decent team. And to be fair, Serbia away is a good test on Tuesday.

CONTRARY to FIRM BELIEF
at 10:26 6 Sep 2025

I think Dave Mc said that we tend to get carried away when a player who has put in performances with rating of around 3/10 then puts in a 6/10. I think that’s true to an extent but with Madsen, I’d say his best games have been Preston away, Sunderland away and Charlton at home. For me, as an example, when he puts that pass through to Smyth or sets up those chances for Yang (I think?) then his rating has to be 7/10 at least because he is responsible for potential game changing movements ie creating a goal. Because they are few times in a game that this happens, bit like scoring a goal. Yang should have scored 1 if not 2 of those Madsen passes, that puts us 2 goals up and game is done vs Preston. Smyth controls it and he has chance to beat keeper and put us 2 goals up, game done.

Liam Morrison agrees new deal
at 14:46 2 Sep 2025

I think he’d make a better right back to be honest. I was thinking Dunne in middle alongside Morrison and Mbengue at right back. Dunne can provide the dominant header in the middle and Mbengue a bit more pace out wide.

Anyone see him play much? I thought he looked way below level against Plymouth.

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread
at 11:09 2 Sep 2025

National league, if they get offers to play there, is a decent standard and certainly excellent experience on “mens” football for them. I watched a bit of national league and it’s not that far off league 2 for me. Alfie Lloyd got good experience there. It will certainly toughen them up and for me , most importantly, we’ll find out whether they can make it to next level.

Well if they continue to not play him in the league, his value is only going one way.

Yeah but I was just responding to point above that CEO can just fire all staff. Most staff, yes but not the 1st team coach and especially when not even a board member. Whether they are absent or not, the firing of 1st team coach, given level and cost, isn’t just 1 man’s decision. Unless of course Reuben wanted to do it, as he can do what he wants.

Yes the CEO is empowered to run the business. Nourry isn’t on the board of QPR though. And certain key decisions will have to be run past the board. Removing the 1st team coach would be one of them.

Yes, in all likelihood. My point was that the manager / 1st team coach, is far too expensive and important position to be removed without getting approval from the board and therefore by Reuben.
