As negativly as people see the last 3 managers , they are professional football manahers and for all 3 to take a pass suggests to me that he was no better thn what we had. I wouldnt be at all suprised if like Danso we dont see him back in the Premier League saying that he is more mature and more exprienced either way Saints was too much too soon for him. Will be glad to see us bank some cash a lighten the wage bill to make way for more incomings. |

Saw it at the shop yesterday and its the best kit we have had for a while. Looks decent quality good attention to detail. The Red sholder pannels help wi the red/white balance. Yes it would be better if it was striped all over but it would also be better without a sponsor. I glad its not striped with a box or pannel , that always reminds me or Rugby for some reason . MOst of all im glad it diesnt have that sponsor like last year. It was classless and it looked like it had been ironed on at the last minute. |

This seems like a decent punt to me and we should make it happen. We need to be buying players wethink may have a chance in the PL. As fans we need to get used to the fact that no team in the Championship is in a possition to buy PL players.
Look at the Fraser Forster situation. He is available on a free and we could really do with a keeper of that quality especialy if Ramsdale leavies. He is off to Newcastle to be their 3rd choice and fullful the UEFA "home trained" quota. Established players have far more lucrative oportunities in the MLS or Saudi. All really have to offer is oportunity which is why we are forced to speculate on younger players or foriegn players that have a distant hope of playing in the PL.
I ay sign him up . if we can get a loan with a simlar option to buy like THB all the better. |

Wouldnt every championship team like "tried and tested". Really we ned PL quality but the days of getting an ex PL striker in have long gone. With MLS and Saudi money no one drops a division, least of all strikers. with 6 subs there is spce for 6 strikers at each PL club to get game time. I think this stratagy is the only one we have got. The kid has a goal controbution every other game , let hope it happens |

I more was said at the time.. VAR was outragious against saints at the time and media coverage focused soley on us playing out from the back. The derby thing was being mentioned very early on. It was like the rest of the football world was like "dont get clever , now your place". I didnt feel like anyone highter up including RM came out fighting for saints.
Things have shifted and Solak has taken more of a direct role. We have some great players for this level and while it would be mad to assume success Im really looking forward to the season. |

dirk change your pijamas , Saints have jsut enjured a season with minimal investment low wages and PL money. Lazy journalism all over the place has us having a firesale with 50% off . Downes to Rangers at half price and THB belis to West ham at a loss, Ramsdale to anyone as we "have to sell having been relegated". The only player realistically we have to sell is Ramsdale as its safe to asume he doesnt have a massive wage reduction clause in his contract. Shea Charles is on 6k a week who would we get for that? £15m wouldnt make sence. To make an actualy profit we would need to find some similar and pay thier wages for £5m!

Various estimates make his wages as high as 120k . But Saints would have been made not to have a relegation clause surely. Either way I dont think we are in too bad a possition, we paid what he was worth I dont agree with beynali73 that we would need to sell him for 10m if West Ham came in. It would be a massive loss and a number of other teams could do with a decent keeper. Understandably he isnt going to have won any clean sheet awards , but he is second for saves and his distribution and presence in the box is good. 20m seems a snip to be honest. |

@block8 you are dead right. I would actualy go as far as saying it has effected us on the pitch. The exposure of the PL is such that every man and his dog has an opinion about the club with very little context. It would be interesting to see when Derbys points total was first metioned. As a fan I felt the club was under attack from week 1 andthe club did very little to manage that. I think its pretty safe to say now that a differnt manager and a different style of play would have done little to make a silk purse out ofthe pigs ear but the club did very little to inspire unity and it felt like the fans and RM were left to defed the (frankly) indefensible. I have sympathy for Ramsdale and some of the younger players that were almost good enough becuase i dont think they were defended either. |

I genuinly believe that RM would have done better than Juric. Maybe not much better , but better. I think that we would have had a better chance of keeping some of our better/ more promising players.
That said, we now need someone to come in and simplify our game so we can at least be difficult to beat and hopefully get a couple of results, maybe a dead rubber towards the end of the season.
Our biggest problem seems to be whoever the manager is we seem to be reluctant to play 4 at the back, when we do we seem a lot better. |

I know that some people hated Cortese because he made club VIPs pay for their season tickets and charged for the car park. There was also outrage at his £1m a year salary, but look what we have become! The size of the board is rediculous.

Comms has been aweful.
There should have been a seige mentality from the start. Instead we came across as blindly possitive.
There was a very vocal minority that where exteamly quick to turn on RM and his style of play. I hazard to guess they may not have even been the same supporters that turned out in the Championship. No effort was made to adress these concern and it was basically left to RM to manage fans expectations in pre and post match interviews. This lead to growing mometum of negativity.
"Russball" and "Tippy Tappy" were blained but he claerly over achieved in the championship and planning for the Premier League was not well executed. For example we had to massivly break our wage structure and transfer policy to bring Ramsdale in. But can you imagine how humiliating some of the results might have been without him?
I would conclude that while its seems irellevent when the team is playing well better PR is essential when we are obviously struggling, Short snippets about how lonely Sulemana is does create "espit de corp" |

We always had a mix of budget players and youth players. Players like Sulemana, Alcaraz, Fernandez, Downes, THB would all be great if we just had some seasoned pro's, hower added to a complete lack of direction and unity we just look like complete amatures.
We were clsoer to winning games under Martin, at least we had some woeful officiating to blame for a smaller points total. The possession football was in the first insance a defensive measure, it migh not be as exiting to watch but if you give much better players the ball and challenge them to attack you, you simply get punnished.
PS someone please explain to Juric that man marking went out in the mid 90s when holding in to players becuae frowned upon... if only we could go back! |

So glad we are not still playning tippy tappy and being robbed by referees. As for the players that got us promoted they can go the same way as the manager that did the same.
