Not sure. I remember she got a rap on the knuckles before for not challenging an Israeli minister talking about Palestine, perhaps she’s overcompensating now but it just felt jarring due to the tone and it was only around an hour after the event itself.
They had a bloke on for about ten minutes stating that far right terrorism is by far the biggest threat to Jewish people in this country and there are neo Nazis everywhere. I’d only just switched on at that point so assumed they had already identified the murderer. This went unchallenged by the presenter.
Then later on radio 4 they had the local MP Graham Stringer (who came across very well btw spoke very well) and another man who were talking about how Jewish communities have felt a huge increase in hostility and hatred towards them since Oct 7th. Yet the presenter came across as very rude and aggressive in her questioning and trying to steer the conversation towards Islamophobia. It was very jarring and not the time for it. The second guy made a comment about how politicians may have stoked up the tension with the anti Israel narratives of the last few months and she was aggressively demanding he provides specific examples and when he said he didn’t want to go into specifics she kept hounding him for one. Just seemed really out of place in the wake of a horrific terror attack that’s left many dead.
Scumbag was already linked to two nightclub shootings and was more than willing to use his car as a weapon so the cop absolutely did the right thing putting a bullet in his brain. It’s a shame that the media wanted to portray him as a friendly smiling popular DJ father to be (the mother had a restraining order against him for domestic violence) in an attempt to create another George Floyd.
Those officers caught on camera absolutely deserve everything that comes to them. We don’t want that ilk in our police force. Unfortunately the nature of some jobs does attract some people who are there for the wrong reasons they get off on that status and power over others and they should be rooted out.
But what we’ve seen today is the absolute best of the police force. Turning up within 3 minutes running towards danger and swiftly and ruthlessly neutralising the threat.
Defence is generally pretty solid apart from the odd brain fart. Teams are always going to get chances at this level and we also have probably the best keeper in the division.
Frustrating though we do seem to be conceding the same type of goals. Three games on the trot now we’ve conceded headers from pretty close range, two of them unchallenged. Set pieces remain an Achilles heel too.
I read that a defeat against England could relegate us into pot 2 for any prospective draws. I know it’s a good money spinner to play England at Wembley but could end up hurting us.
Yeah the industry owners creamed off the profits from that. Some things never change. But then without that industry coming here and creating jobs Wales would have a population of about 400,000. The towns and cities and communities we know simply wouldn’t exist.
After all the things Labour have said about Trump over the last few years calling him “dangerous” and a “man baby” and god knows what else they are today at their own conference selling thousands of MAGA style red hats with “Build baby Build” written on them.
Looks like a good opportunity to pop this on here again:
“to change Britain, we must change ourselves.
We need to clean up politics. No more VIP fast lanes. No more kickbacks for colleagues. No more revolving doors between Government and the companies they regulate. I will restore standards in public life with a total crackdown on cronyism.”
I think it would be also very naive to think we and the US and a lot of other countries aren’t also interfering in Russia in a similar way. There’ll be plenty of Russian oligarchs and politicians in the wests pocket too.
There have been tensions, attacks, bombings and wars between both sides previously but the history books will categorically and unequivocally state that this war began on October 7th 2023.
Of course you can as long as you won’t need to buy anything, move house, hire a solicitor, use the NHS, go on holiday, vote in elections and don’t mind going to prison.
