Didn't the Football Manager game continually advertise Watford in the screenshots? Probably because the director or the game supports them. How apt that the game sack managers often, and that they showcase Watford a lot in the game :P |

We found out later that Furs was playing injured when he first started playing for us and was carrying it for the first year. In addition, the rest of the team was not playing to his strengths and that took them time to catch on as well. The Bard took time to adjust as he signed from Watford, where he played right midfield, so playing right back was new to him, and it took him some time to adjust defensively. We'll see if Masden continues to improve. I hope he does, but I am not convinced. |

Need all the points we can get right now, as Nov and Dec are brutal fixture months for us. If we are top 6 by Jan 3rd, then okay, I may start to believe. But until then, it's still 16th for me. |

Very important to get as many points as possible this month, as November and December are brutal as a fixture list for us. Winter is coming! |

Oxford were there for the taking; everyone could see it. Even Sky commentators saw it. We were poor as last season's game against them, but they were better, defensively only at least, which is why they didn't lose. Dropping those players for a winnable game at home, for them to return from Brizzle away, really puts the manager under his own pressure. Even if we get a draw there, that's only 2 points from 2 games, when we could have had 3 here and then parked the bus Bristol, even if we lost that, that's 3 points from 2 games, so more points and home record looks intimidating for any opponent. Field showed hes not gonna do it against weak oppo, Hayden the same , Dembele is an AMC (could have dropped one of the DMC's for him or Morgan and really tested Oxford) as I said before many times, Frey and Kone are too similar, Cook is still decent, Mbengue got a yellow so, he misses out anyway (should not have started him if you wanted to rotate as he was on yellow away from suspension). I fear Julien has made a mistake and will learn the hard way here. However, if we win, then he's the master tactician. Saturday at 5pm will tell us what is what. |

His best position is AMC, then RW and then LW. Really, he's an AMC, so when Poku is back, it could get exciting. |

Yes as Nov and Dec are really hard month so, we need as many points as possible. Winter is coming! |

Looking at the coming fixtures, we have a very tough set of matches to play in November and December. We need to accumulate a lot of points on the board in October so we can park the bus in November and December. Need to win that Oxford game for sure. Winter is Coming. |

Unless it's Scotland, as Dykes even makes that squad. Scotland it is then. |

Sheff Wed had done their homework and stifled us. They got a lucky goal, and so did we. Playing Bannon as a left-sided CB when in possession (but not when out of possession) of the ball was a masterstroke. Vale, who was on that side, was not wise to it and did not press him; he had free rein to pass it about, and with Bannon, we know that means Sheffield Wednesday are always in the game. I have seen Bannon play a sweeper role in front of the back line before, but never that deep, it was clever as if the oppo team does not press all the time it allows Bannon to build from the back with balls over the top, which means if your defence is not watching, you get done. Great play by the defence stopped that from happening, as they really tried to catch us out here. We played well for 20 mins when we pressed them hard all the time and thats Sheff Wed weakness, which we only challenged for 20 mins, and then we dropped off and let em back in control of the game. Other managers will see that, and I expect them to get spanked every week now. In addition, our passing was abysmal that day, strong five yard passes together was as bad as Wed who were the same. It's hard to press all the time with Madsen not coming forward, hence Varane was subbed as he was on his own in the middle there. I suppose Madsen playing 6 is better than Madsen playing 8, but really there isn't much in it. To put it in context, Bannon, who is older than Madsen, was able to get up and down the pitch time and again, sometimes starting from the left centre back position, if he can do it, then no other player in the Champ has an excuse not to. I am not even talking about skill level, just effort to get up and down the pitch. |

Seems super fit for his age, shows it can happen to any of us. |

This and behind closed doors. Even then the teams have had time to prep so it will never be the same, but at least it's done then. |

Yeah, you will never catch me as a keyboard warrior doing that :P |

As the others are playing so well, we need JCS back sooner, as he can play LB if needed. So, that helps a lot. The rest should rest, as when we pick up new injuries, we need these to come back fresh and ready at the correct time. |
 | Forum Reply | Team v Sheff W at 13:35 23 Sep 2025
It would have to be Madsen, then Morgan could help in the attack when we had the ball. This could be a neat option as long as Morgan stays on him when we are without the ball. |
 | Forum Reply | RND at 22:49 22 Sep 2025
This. And better than Bidwell. Not amazing, but a decent stopgap for now, but really, we need to sort this LB position out and pronto. Esq isn't ready yet but may get there one day, he should be loaned out to Orient who make all our players look good. |

He was too casual; he needed to smash it. I hope next time he does just that. |
 | Forum Reply | The unicorn stays a bit longer at 22:44 22 Sep 2025
It's a good idea to renew him as a backup. Imagine if Kone got a long injury, we would want that number 9 backup, and Frey can do that. |

This. We do also have to remember they are a young squad, and they will unfortunately have to learn the hard way. Just like Manning coming on as a sub and getting sent off straight away. Mbengue will get a yellow in the next three games or less, and then he will be banned. This is when Cook will come in. And if he's back to his best, then Mbengue may struggle to get a look in. Even if Cook does not, ten even the mythical JCS could be in contention (no laughing at the back, or the middle or the front). He's going to get sent off for sure this season. Some have to learn the hard way, it seems :( |

Just a complete guess, but he may rest Varane and Vale. Bringing in Hayden and Demble. Chair should be back in contention from the subs bench, I would say. Possibly Poku too. Who gets dropped from the bench to the DS will be interesting. |
