Tactics-wise, it was Colback in front of the defence and Andersen as the AMC. Colback played better here as he was not forced to run up and down the pitch. Andersen was okay but off the pace. He does not have the legs for it, despite trying to run around before being subbed off. Lloyd tried hard to occupy their backline and did okay, considering he's not really a first-teamer. Smyth was decent, and Field was good in the first half but slow in the second, which is understandable. Backline played well against a lame Cardffi. Paal this time was on his game, which made a change. But our fullbacks had it easy as really Cardiff are poor due to having no wingers (should have played Willock) and no forwards (Robinson is drek poor and should have started Méïté) and an average defence. We should have pushed to win this game, but I bet the objective was not to lose, as then Cardiff would have gained points. Cardiff are in serious trouble now. That's a game they should have pushed to win, as we were on the beach. The manager of Cardiff is clueless. That game was made for Willock and Méïté. Yang blew his chance on the left. While he's better on the left than the right, he still did little and even gave the ball away dangerously in the first half. I called it before the match that Marti would start Yang on the left, but I suspect that for the next game, Marti will replace him with Smyth on the left and Demeble on the right until Saito returns as Yang is too error prone and did not beat his man Rinomhota who looked decent. Colwill also looked good for them too. As we can see, it's desperate times when Bennie is coming on as your forward sub. We need Frey back quick and Kohli. Also, I notice that JCS and Celar really have been out for most of the season. I doubt they will ever return this year. |

Yang scored from playing on the left (after his bad performances on the right), therefore I am guessing that Marti will start him on the left. G: Nardi D: Dunne D: Paal D: Edwards D: Morrison M: Yang M: Field M: Colback M: Smyth A: Dembele A: Lloyd Varane may be in for Field if not ready, which could be the case. And even Lloyd may not start, in which case I would go wild and have a Madsen, as he can pass for at least 5 yards and is 6.4. Force him to play up front and do something. |

Agree with this. Dozy I remember did once put ina full performance for us (I cannot remember against whom) whereby he had run around like a madman and sweated buckets for us. A Field type performance. But I only saw it the once. There were more sending-offs than wonder goals, as there was only one worldie ever!. His goal against Oxford was a simple shot on goal, and he should have scored against us at the loft with another such similar chance but blew it. That's how we know he's rubbish and should be playing alongside Cousins in L1. Back to Willock, it was a massive mistake leaving QPR. It looks good for us, as some players like Kohli and Chair want to stay as they have seen the other side. Same with Armstrong and Dykes. We sold them for monies and that was money well collected. If Cardiff go down, they will look to offload Willock as his wages are high, I would NOT have him back as he's much older now, even though at QPR he was on average a quality player. I would prefer we signed Saito and he would probably be cheaper, not to mention 5 years younger! He will never make the Prem now and will watch his brother make all the money. Eze not. |

I get it, They don't want to end up like Rangel Angel, play some meaningless game, get injured and then never play again. As for players getting clubs, Roberts, Richards, and Dozzell all seem to find a contract, so there are plenty of silly clubs out there. We even sold Dykes for a million and he's scored as many league goals for us (Sheff U away) as he has for Brum in a lower league for a better team in that league in the whole season ... so far. Even Celar has more league goals than him and he's been injured and does not run. Look at us. We signed an injured player who cannot play until next season in Dale. The last time that gamble paid off was Rowlands, but we have had others where it has not. The classic, Sturridge and Dyer and now Richards. This won't be the end of stupid transfers by clubs, as someone always thinks they are Warnock, who can get the next Adel on the cheap! |

Way more injuries all over the squad than last season, though. |

I wonder how the majority of Bundesleague clubs that have 50% fan ownership do it? I mean, what have "zee jermans" ever won? |

Up, then we can play all those other teams just outside West London. If not up, win the FA Cup to take the pish out of all the Premier teams. Meanwhile, back on planet Earth... |
 | Forum Thread | Who should have Marti started up front? at 14:56 30 Mar 2025
So, against Stoke, out is ... Frey, Celar, Kohli, Kelman (loaned). Lloyd is just coming back from injury, so, on the advice of medical staff, he cannot start. Clearly, Smyth and Dembele cannot start up front. I would have started Madsen up front. He does not run back so, no need to worry about that as he's upfront and at least he can do five-yard passes. I would have forced him to hold the ball up somehow, as well. We could also find out if he can head the ball despite being a giant and if he can play in another position seeing as he won't run around for the middle. See, Marti's problem now? When you have 4 forwards and they are all unfit and the fifth is out on loan, then you have no forwards and that was Stoke. Zero forwards so, he's forced to playing wingers up front and some of them are injured. Essentially, our whole attack is injured. I am surprised we scored even. On the upside, Yang may be better on the left wing than the right wing. Cutting inside, he seems to be quite useful. |

Or maybe if he goes to jail and later on her kids hate her for sending daddy to jail even though he deserved it. She is the victim, along with many others. |
 | Forum Reply | Trent at 13:04 25 Mar 2025
England tried him in the middle, but it did not work as he does not run back. At RB, most of the time, he's already at the back, but as we know, he can get caught out position-wise there as well. No doubt vision, passing, crossing and free-kicks are world-class. So, where do you play him? I suspect he could play RM, but not many teams play that way now. And for England, we have Saka, who, by his absence, has proven to be world-class. Real have him as he's cheap and they can use him to unlock those stubborn defences and also play as RM like Beckham did for them. You see how it appeals to them. Also, no doubt that Bellingham convinced them to sign him as he's going to be charging into the box to head in those Trent crosses for sure. |

He spent years at Wycombe, and then his QPR dream job came up. He joined at the wrong time, even for him. Still, he managed to keep us up, and then, of course, as he's not more experienced than Wycombe and QPR, he could not do anymore. Shrewsbury is a basket case, everyone knows that, he did try there and even Marti would struggle. Now at Gills, if it does not go well then that will be on him. |
 | Forum Reply | Points,required for safety at 12:56 25 Mar 2025
Sjoke is a 6 pointer for both teams. Win that, and we should be good as we only need 2 draws then. Marti will have drilled that into them; the heat will be on the players. Expect instant aggression from kick off. |

 | Forum Reply | Charlie Kelman’s Leyton Orient at 15:01 23 Mar 2025
We complain when the young uns go on loan and don't tear up trees in the lower leagues. Well, Kelman and Larkeche have proven it down the leagues and elsewhere now. I am not a fan of Kelman, I can see that he can pass and shoot, but I am not sure he can hold the ball up Gallen style and he's not fast enough for the Champ and of course I am not sure he wants to do the nasty run run run (Madsen jogging along). Buts he's done the business so, deserves a chance in the 1st team from the subs bench next season with Lloyd going out on loan. Larkeche needs to be brought back, especially as Fox is probably off. Then we have Dale and Larkeche for that position. |
 | Forum Reply | So player of the season? at 12:39 21 Mar 2025
Dunne, although after his comments for the Ireland call-up, it's clear he is looking for a prem move (Sheff U) and fair enough. If you had said at the start of the season that he would score some goals and continue his RB form, we would have doubted it. Another factor is that he's been mostly fit for the season, especially when he could have phoned it off until the last few weeks. He still busts a gut for the team, is rewarded with an Ireland callup, Wilder getting the horn for him and possibly being POY. It would also make Norry look stupid if the POY who is below 30 left on a free. AI your backside out of that one. |
 | Forum Reply | Vinícius Júnior buying Rangers? at 12:34 19 Mar 2025
Good rumour this as it fits, but we know it's not gonna happen. There is no way he would buy us, as otherwise he would just be constantly nagged to play for us, even after finishing with Real. Apart from Uncle, no one wants QPR on their footy CV. Now, if one of us won the lottery and started taking the wrong mushrooms, that's different. |

Sky pushes Leeds as Sky Bet is based in Leeds. So, its like looking after your own up north. Its all happening in Leeds you see otherwise, some new Sky CEO shuts it down and moves it elsewhere as it could be anywhere. So, Leeds must be made to look great constantly in ALL ways. So, Leeds lot in Sky feel the need to push Leeds as a happening place as they feel insecure competing with London (which is where it really is all happening). This message translates right across Sky as "push Leeds hard as it helps Sky Bet as they are based in Leeds". And as a result you then get a lot of Leeds fans in Sky and the merry-go-round we have seen for some years now. I have no evidence of this except working in many corporates, when one HQ has to compete with another that happens to be in London, that other one usually poos its pants and doubles down on how great it is (when it isn't) and tries to compete with London as a whole city (stupid idea). It makes little diff, they shut it down anyway and move it. The only time I have not seen this done is Nationwide based in Swindon, who keep shutting down London offices and then reopening them as they have to. When you employ everyone in Swindon and then need new skills, you end up in London anyway. In that company, the Swindon lot actively try to get your fired if you work from London. They love it when the London office is closed. |

Video looks like a LW rather than LB. I am not too bothered about the attacking crosses and dribbles, we have other players for that. Show me way more crunching tackles (there are only four of them in there), last-ditch defending, heading against bigger players, covering other players' mistakes in defence, losing the ball running back and winning it, getting passed by a faster player but recovering to block the cross (Dunne has to do this a lot), not getting caught out with the in-between CB/LB defence-splitting ball (Paal, I am looking at you), blocking crosses, and shouldering the ball out of play. Then as an extra ... Cultured passes out of defence, helping to beat the press with pass and move, passing into the middle between the oppo forwards and splitting the oppo middle by doing it. Balls up the line that actually give our forwards time to control it. And a long diags across the pitch to the other RB or even better RW (Cook does this). Then we are talking about the next Clive Wilson. Otherwise, it's Drewe over again. Nice lad, but not what we need. |
