Richards is in the last year of his contract, so, of course, he will be fit and up for it. Expect worldies, Messiesque, Adel-type performances for the DS right up until the January window.
Whereby we should flog him for whatever we can get, because if he does not go in Jan or before, then come Feb he will cry off again as he won't want to get injured before moving on.
I expect him to leave by mutual consent at the end of Jan.
Millwall have been clever and bought Josh Coburn off Boro for £5m. He's one for the future and already played 20+ games in the champs, scoring 5. So, 1 in 4
Classic wall as his a big number 9. Boro were stupid for selling him and they sold Jones to Luton last season for £5m.
Looks like a Dunne backup to me, as Dunne was a CB moved to RB. This look like the same approach here, but with possible development and resale value later on.
If this signing works out, it will be a clever one.
Essentially, it is the Fox equivalent on the right-hand side. Can play as a backup for Dunne and, at worst, a CB. A utility player.
The difference is he's way younger so, could still develop into a better player and will probably on cheaper wages than Fox (unless Fox signs a new lower contract).
This now covers us for Dunne as reserve RB, it also covers us if Morrison, Cook, JCS get injured as then Dunne can move across and Mbengue can come in at RB.
We now need to sign a LB (or go with the three raw options we have, Dale, Larkeche, Brasil Kid), a young DMC (to let Colback go and also as backup if we sell Varane for big monies) and of course the mythical number 9 as backup or ahead of Frey. If we have the luxury, another CB as well as Mbengue is untested at this level.
Hopefully, Eze gets sold and somehow Saints accept £4m for Edwards and he is crazy enough to take a wage cut ... meanwhile, back on planet Earth.
Funny title of a video of him supposedly going to Grangers
Pros: Has pace with the ball Can go past a man on either side Cross with the left foot is quite good but not amazing
Cons: Can only cross with his left foot Shooting is wayward Shows the ball to the defenders too near them, in some clips you can see him getting caught with that and also when under pressure so, top Champ tacklers like Field will have him, if he continues to play the ball too close to them.
Looks okay but nothing amazing.
What he does give us though is options. Now Dembele can play in the middle as an AMC No 10 which is his better position and this could free up space for Poku in a 1:1 situation on the right. And we have Smyth who can play as a sub on the right for cover but also as we know on the left for Chair in case he's out. It also means Madsen will now be under more pressure to deliver or he won't play at all if Demeble stays fit and does the business in the middle as he can do.
He won't go, and in December, he will start playing for the DS like Maradona. All to win a new contract with someone else (as we won't be fooled).
Then in Jan, hopefully someone stupid from L2 wants him, and we pay him to go early. But more likely, he will see out his contract in full.
He will then go on to buying and selling properties, as no doubt he already has several interest-only mortgages from stupid Banks who have lent him money as he's an elite "footballer". Or so, he told them.
I also suspect he makes a go of it, and actually, we shall see him with millions and large numbers of houses all over London in 10 years. Myseteriously, his mental issues will all have been resolved by then. And publicly voting Tory obviously.
We should sell for £8.6m in straight cash with 20% Eze clause, which will be over €10m. It seems that the Euros are the ones who want him, so that's as far as they would go to €10m.
For that money, we could buy a £2m replacement, another punt on young number 9 for £2m, leaving 0.6m for the usual prem Jan loans and £4m so we do not have to sell anyone else this season.
If he goes for €20m two years later we shall then get €4m as per the 20% sell on so, another £3.5m. The Eze way.
1. It's the Reading kit. 2. There is now zero chance we have that kit for sure as Reading have it.
As QPR fans, we should all ring into some Reading FC hotline saying how much we love the kit and will be buying it up after the club has at least committed to wearing it in the first month. Then come Sept we shall all by buying it, honest guv.
So, Reading FC will certainly become committed to it, and we won't.
I suspect its a 1+1 but on Dunnes side not QPR's for a change.
Meaning he's really on a 1-year contract, but with an option to extend with us if no one he likes wants him at the end of next season. It also allows us to sell him in January for any money if we so choose.
There is also the view that why have so many Keepers? Sure, one young kid as a 3rd choice and then two mainstays.
You see, if we sold Nardi to pay off debts, Walsh gets injured, one can always bring in an emergency keeper who's quite good. As we know, a few seasons ago, we brought in 3 of them. So, really, is there a need to have so many keepers? .... unless ... unless ...
Signing young keepers and locking down Walsh to a new contract means QPR probably expect Nardi to move on at some point and soon. Good work here, as I believe Walsh is impressive for his age (remember, Keepers don't really get going until 26 and don't hit their prime until 30).
If we sold Nardi tomorrow for £2m (we did for Dieng, albeit he was much younger), then this would be great business and keep the wolves off our bigger assets like Chair/Varane/Kohli/Dembele/Morrison for another season.
