I’ve had the lot and I’ve got a drawer in my kitchen that wouldn’t look out of place from a scene in The Wire.

On the meds front I always say this one thing to people - if you get prescribed Diclothiniac for anything then question it, question it again and then in your last question ask for a PPI alongside it. It’s an evil bastard thing and nearly killed me years ago with internal bleeding being a very, very common side effect.

Tramadol used sparingly is a great drug.
Can have a nice trippy effect but what screws me up is it actually gives me insomnia and restricts me from trap one for a few days. I only ever take it if things are really, really bad. My dog swears by it and sorts him out as well (real reason why I have a months worth in the drawer!!!).

If you can avoid morphine patches, NSAIDs, Tramadol and all the rest of the opioid family then please do. Motion really is lotion and keeping the mind occupied can deflect that constant nerve pain if you have it.
When it’s really bad though I get people will do and take absolutely anything. It really can be indescribable and I fully understand people who go to extreme lengths…… I mean operations in this area aren’t exactly an everyday quick decision!!!

Best of luck

I hope you were in a decent wing, the food wasn’t too bad and the ankle tag isn’t too tight.

Sheffield wednesday next home game.
at 16:04 17 Sep 2025

I’m all for them getting the game abandoned IF we get three points and an automatic 3-0 win to us.

Hopefully a further points deduction for them as well.

Due to my passionate dislike for that club I have as much sympathy for them as those Wednesdayites I’ve come across would have for us.

Also…. I’m sure the vast majority of our fans who have paid out for travel and tickets would not welcome having to reattend on a Tuesday night and spending even more.

The Loan System - A God Idea or Not ??
at 10:44 17 Sep 2025

Not so sure the idea for the loan system had divine intervention but if it was God then fair play.

It gave us Adel Tarrabat initially.
That is good enough for me.

Here endth my post

I hope you’ve not prolapsed a disc, hopefully you’ve just stirred up a nerve near a facet joint.
Wouldn’t say the last 20 odd years of my life has been ruined by a slipped disc but it’s certainly affected it.

Countless injections, couple of operations (both failed), probably up to tens of thousands spent on physio, osteopathy, cairos and drugs etc…..yet still it persists. Last operation was two and a half years ago (discectomy with laminectomy) and after that failed it’s been reformer Pilates that’s allowed me to keep going.

My latest flare up was a week ago.
Bending down too quick to pick up trainers. I mean……..
Just off to Pilates now to hopefully pull me round a bit but this is a bad one and really quite concerning with the leg pain and weakness

The physical pain is one thing (Tramadol can sort that) but mentally it’s a killer.

Good luck and as said hope it’s minor and clears up quickly

A potted history, Stoke in the mud edition QPR vs Stoke City Match Thread
at 07:39 16 Sep 2025

News flash — it used to be that life begins at 40; we’ve moved on; it kicks on at 50 now.

This will be a really tough one on Saturday (the game, not your birthday; although……)
I’d take a score draw now.
Hopefully we can nab another win by two margin to keep nudging towards a positive GD and continue climbing

As ever, midfield will be key. I’m hoping Samuel Field Esq. has had the best week of his life in training and starts as well need size and mobility in there.

I’m going for a Desmond here - Kone with a brace but cancelled out by a penalty and a mix up at the back.

The force of the self righteous is strong on this one…..

Vitriol? Not seen it.
People wanting him / the club to fail? C’mon
Le Shrug = clutch yer pearls and be the first to mention a certain demonstration and disparage people?? Beyond touchy!!

As others have said we shouldn’t be casting statues after wins v Charlton and monied Wrexham; much as we shouldn’t be casting aspersions after defeats.
However surely people can understand concerns with the manner of defeats where seven are conceded and a squad of kindergarten toddlers is taken to a Cup competition.

Bon chance to Julien and I hope we and he go from success to success

QPR's newly acquired strike power downs Disney FC - Report
at 22:43 14 Sep 2025

Great stuff and a good read

However….. Mbengue.
Mmmmmmmmmmm
Currently I have him down for Samba Diakete levels of lunacy - some good, some not so good.
I have him down for 3 reds across the season on my spreads; god knows how many yellows and more than his fair share of heart in mouth moments
That challenge near the end that was given as a free kick on the edge was pure mental. The fella dived but the intent was there and how both ref and Lino saw that as being outside the sweet lord o my knows.
Then you have his sheer love of wearing the shirt and throwing himself in front of HGV’s for the cause and you’ve got to love the fella.

On Kone I make you right.
15 goals and consistent performances and a £15mill striker you have

Onwards…..

Liam Morrison

Another very good performance from the lad - he’s one of the most “unfussy” centre backs I’ve seen.
Does his job every week.

I had thought Cook / Ronnie might’ve been making him look excellent last season but; appears not, he’s doing it all on his own.
Mbengue is prone to Samba Diakite levels of lunacy sometimes but Liam provides the yin to that hang. Really, really like this lad and I can see him progressing to the top.

Pushing for my MOTM again today as I like my winner of that spot to have done a full 90 min shift and not just excelled in patches / one half.

22 years old?

The flick round their player and then buying the foul to stop the game and draw some sting at the time was maturity beyond his years.
It was certainly appreciated by Captain Dunne

Wrexham certainly couldn’t live with Vale and Burrell down that side first half

Julien Stéphan talks dreams, transfers, and that Coventry game – Interview
at 10:15 13 Sep 2025

All points taken and agreed with.

I’m in a weird place with the Nourry situation

I quite liked his early approach to rip up a lot of things behind the scenes.
We were carrying coaches who had been absolute failures for years.
Also agreed / agree with the youth approach that if you’ve not made it by a certain age then you’re not going to make it here (you might elsewhere and we’ll give you a glowing reference)

However, dictators don’t make for good leaders
JS allowing the GK situation and the Plymouth situation to occur so early in his tenure burnt a lot of my feelings and a much needed win against Charlton doesn’t put out that fire.
This is a HUGE task this season and I really fear for this massively young and inexperienced squad and management set up.

We’ll see.

A draw today would be a good start to this chunk of the season

Yes get yourself up to Regents Street and make an appointment (go armed with receipt for new device and the old one).

Prepare to wait.
And also prepare to be spoken to by someone who you've probably got underpants older than, who will have weird piercings, oddly coloured hair and who will talk to you in a language you are not familiar with and cock their head sideways and give you condescending looks that say "you're not that far off needing to be in a secure home are you?????"
They are bloody good at what they do though.
B'stards.

Sounds evenly matched then.

I'd take a draw here big time -- think I'll be saying that a LOT this season.

Hoping Sam Field has been eating Mojo's for a couple of weeks, Chair fit (no chance!) and Cook starts with Morrison.

However I reckon a 2-0 defeat and plenty of shoulder shrugs post match.

Didn’t watch it all as missed first 20 minutes

Quite enjoyed what I did watch and, credit where it’s due, to beat a tough outfit like Serbia in their own backyard like that is huge credit.

Lots of hype about this Anderson chap.
He keeps it simple and is one of those metronome type centre midfielders.

Well done England

I think you know the answer to that one.

Hayden could fall off the plane just finishing his 13th can of Red Stripe, quickly burn off his last bit of ganja and walk to W12 from Heathrow and he'd be the better option.
Probably.
