It's funny how people see the game.
I thought Burrell and Celar both looked good, but because Burrell runs around a lot more compared to Celar, to some, it simply means Celar is crap. It reminds me of my father in law, who when watching games on the TV, simply shouts 'leg it" every time someone gets the ball....
Celar held the ball up well first half, and brought Dembele, Chair and Poku into the game well. That side of his game goes unnoticed.
Either way, less negativity and more positivity required. This is a young team and we're finally working towards a sustainable football model.

We sold a player who might have come good, but clearly wasn’t committed — for £3–5 million after add-ons, and brought in a proven, well-liked striker off the back of a strong season at Burton for a quarter of the fee. This is exactly the kind of smart, pragmatic business the club should be doing. |

Came onto this post and found a load of grumpy ol' pessimists having a moan.
I think the squad looks well balanced considering we are still in July. The injuries / illnesses to our strikers are far from ideal, but judging by the latest training video shared on the offish, the intensity is high and the quality looks pretty good.
I like that we're giving more responsibility to the younger guys. That's how we grow ourselves out of the last decade of mismanagement. With a couple more additions before the season starts, we'll be fine! Definitely not relegation fodder anyway! [Post edited 12 Jul 9:45]

Check out the book by James Hoffmann - The World Atlas of Coffee. It's a big book that you can keep on your coffee table and dip in and out of. It's a fascinating read and takes you through the history, the different types of beans, the conditions to grow and cultivate coffee etc...
Well worth 20 quid. His YouTube channel is good too!

For a young lad, his improvement since his Leicester nightmare has been excellent. It takes a lot of character and bottle to overcome that, and he's done it without letting his head drop. That's the sort of young player we should be going after if you ask me! |

I never said the owner doesn’t have a responsibility to the club or its fanbase. But criticism of Israel’s actions is not the same as racism, and it’s disingenuous to suggest that it is. He's entitled to his point of view even if it differs from that of others.
Regarding my point about Jewish fans engaging with difficult opinions, I wasn’t speaking on behalf of anyone - I was making the broader point that we all have to confront uncomfortable discussions, no matter where we stand on this issue.
That being said, I think it’s clear this debate isn’t going to go anywhere productive on here. People have entrenched views, and that’s not going to change. I’ve made my points, others have made theirs, and I don’t see much more coming from this beyond going in circles.
I’ll leave it at that.

He's absolutely entitled to his opinion, just as others are entitled to disagree with it. Disagreeing with someone doesn’t mean they don’t have the right to express their views.
At the same time, Jewish fans, like all communities, should have better ways to engage with difficult opinions rather than outright dismissing or reacting emotionally to them. Many supporters who oppose the actions of Israel have had to confront deeply distressing realities about the destruction and suffering in the region, yet they continue to engage in discourse rather than shutting it down.
You call these opinions "vile and ignorant," but let’s not ignore the widespread suffering and devastation that Israel has inflicted on thousands of innocent people. Criticism of a nation-state’s actions is not the same as antisemitism. It is entirely possible to oppose both terrorism and state-led atrocities at the same time.
If Trump’s comments about displacing two million people to build a luxury resort don’t unsettle you, then perhaps the discussion here is already at an impasse. However, just as people have the right to be outraged at certain views, others have the right to be disturbed by policies and actions that actively harm millions.
Ultimately, if we only defend free speech when we agree with it, then we aren’t defending free speech at all. |

Ashby was poor today, but one defeat in 11 league games prior to this and great character shown by ALL of the team during this period.

We have lost 2 in 12, are unbeaten in 7, and have only conceded 2 goals during that time. All this with a plethora of injuries. We are much better off than last season and have some really good younger players improving and contributing to the squad.
Nourry isn't perfect, but come on, do we really need to be placing the blame so harshly for a few decisions that some don't agree with? I for one am finally enjoying watching QPR at the moment and that's where I personally draw the line.
There's no need for a scapegoat right now, and if we are honest, no football club is perfect. Give the bloke a little more time is what I say. |

Dunne playing back in his more natural role, with Santos covering him in his.
Dembele also playing in his most threatening role in the centre just behind Frey, with more pace out on the flanks in Saito and Smyth.

He had the vision to set up EDB for the shot that was scored by Santos on the rebound, and then stepped up in front of the away fans and nailed his penalty under pressure which helped take us through.
I'll never understand why "some fans" feel the need to put a dampener on things, especially after we win! |

He hardly missed 'sitters'. Those were mostly half chances and the fact that he was on the end of them suggests that by the law of averages, he'll bag a few in the near future which in turn will aid his confidence.

My girlfriend and I are back from Lisbon for Christmas and I decided to go to yesterday's game with her. It's only her second game (the first was a 0-0 with Blackpool last season). For someone that doesn't follow football, and observes me on most weekends shouting at the match day commentary from my dining room table, she really enjoyed it and told me at the end that she's now a QPR fan. She even insisted that we visited the club shop at the end of the match to sign the deal by purchasing a scarf.
Her opinion was that the game was exciting, she loved the 'singing', and she thought that we were unlucky not to draw the match. She wants to come back and watch again in February. To be honest, I actually thought the same. We played well and deserved more. We have our limits, but we're certainly not one of the worst three teams in this division, and with a little strengthening in January (if we can manage that around FFP), then I think we'll be just fine.
To have converted my girlfriend after a loss is a good sign. Merry Christmas everyone! |
