Totally agreexBrian he was my MOTM as well Think the goal was a bit of a fluke....we were right behind that cross... and thatvwas either a top piece of skill or a fluke, to volley that back over perfectly... takes some doing Everyone around us was stunned into silence by it... so I can imagine the defence were the same |

I was reading the match fred and was amazed at how little Cook was mentioned 2 games in 3 days... and looked really good, possibly the best defender in both games Today 2 of the normal back 4 were out, a 20 year old kid playing left back, and Cook was superb. He Marshalled that defence superbly I have no hesitation and play him, especially if NRD is not fit. For I would have to drop Morrisson to the bench |

Just got home... and still buzzing.... Have to be honest we were right in line with that.... and I had a look at the ref and for a second I thought he was pointing to Smyth to disallow it.... and then turn... que bedlam on my part It was definitely a push... and if that was allowed against us... I would be totally p!ssed... but it wasn't, it stood, and we won.... geeeetttt iiiinnnnn |

Pretty much it... at the game last night we were all saying 5 changes... does JS think we are Liverpool (possibly a bad examlpe) or Man City (even worse example).... that we can effect that many changes without struggling? Saying that I thought Oxford did OK... as mentioned they have had a few decent results... so are no mugs. Also thought they defended very well... well enough to easily stop us Disappointed.... definitely. Would be lovely this morning to be sitting 3rd and going on Saturday for a "promotion" 3 pointer lol But Brizzle will come at us, and we are proven to be a counter team... I think last night JS was hoping to scrape this one... and on to Saturday.... Best made plans of mice and men etc. |

Yes been a very good loan... and I must be old school, but the barney with Rowett was 1st class.. being in SA Stand hard to see what exactly happened, but looked like he was trying to get the ball back.. Rowett/Oxford were p!ss balling about, so decided to hurry things along... as you do |

The best thing about that half was... it was a little better than the one last season...... just Thought we started the half really tentatively.... lot of keeping possession... by back it backwards.. which is kinda understandable with 5 changes ... But we grew into the half and ended it by far the better team Defence looks pretty decent, though Oxford haven't really tested us Thought Hayden/Field is a little too negative for this time of game... and still do Though Frey had a decent half there... held the ball and had a decent link up with Kone Vale is his usual class... and NRD had a good half... but head and shoulders. Kone is a beast .. absolutely everywhere in attack and in defence .. he is more than a striker Think we can take this 2nd half... Oxford should tire being 3 games unchanged... just need to create a little more |

Just got to my seat... seen the team... Though personally think that team should be strong enough to get a win... surprised to see so many changes I'm a great fan of Field ... so pleased he gets a run out... Cook is a gamble, but hopefully Mbengue will cover him within pace Frey up front... and no Saiko... that is a bold move 2-0 to us... perhaps 2 -1 .... but go 3rdπ΅βπ«π΅βπ«π΅βπ« |

Mrs MinT and I stayed up to watch this... and as above have to recognise the amazing fight back from the Americans... but apart from that I hope in reflection the American public are ashamed of their antics There has to be serious questions asked about this especially over in the States. I'm all for passion in sports, what would football be loke without passion , cricket without fast bowlers intimidating batsmen, Rugby without crunch, but what was carried out there was nothing short of disgraceful A wife assaulted, players abused merciless. Was there physical altercation? I wouldn't be surprised if there was, but if not, how far off that are we? I was never a great golfer, but always enjoyed the sport. |

Possibly the best umpire to have graced the game At a time when home umpires where under intense scrutiny during test series... there was never a whiff of Dickie being biased And as stated a gentleman as well. RIP .... and howzat Dickie |

Good points Brian... I can only think that it might be both continuity and someone who can do a job for us. Chances are Kone is going to be off in a year or even less, especially if he stays injury free. Finding another nugget like him will be a hard ask... so Frey will step in... not an exact replacement but can do a job for us We know what we have in Frey... and I think this new up and at 'em approach will suit him more that tikka ticca. If he is on film star wages then yes would seem a little strange, but if he is on reasonable wages, then it would seem good business Think Nourry has moved us on from keeping someone in the hope they come good, so Frey must be part of the "project" |

We seem to be on the road to being a well run club, can't believe I just wrote this. So if the club believes that extending Frey is the correct thing to do, I'm all for it Unfortunately I think he will outlast Kone. I really can't see Kone being with us past the summer, unless something horrendous happens. King Kone is I feel destined for bigger better things. So keeping Frey on seems like good business I think as above Frey will get a start in the Oxford game. |

Probably going against the grain here... but I'm in the Birch camp re this Bit different if we won something a cup (be still my beating π) or promotion... but a win.. seems a bit over the top But on the other hand, it is good to see the team enjoying a win with the fans. Guess it comes back to ... in the day when you scored a goal... it was an handshake, well done old boy and kick off... now it is whole dance routines and everyone kissing. Guess the end of match celebrations have taken off. Yes I'm an old fart... but dread to think what we will do if we ever got promotion!!! |

My grandad was born in the 1880... he was never an R... but his brother was.... when my Granddad met my gran here in Kent WW1 ... after the war he came here to the mines after marrying gran With the depression in the 20 his brother moved down for work.. Titch (his name) continued to go sporadically, money allowing. He never married, but he use to take his nephew, my uncle to games... Phil...who became a life long Rs. He then took my brother in the 50s, Phil never married Then they took me in the 60s.... Now my brothers sons both go with their lads... and I have taken my grandson now.. so we are also 5 generations I think Titch first games were Edwardian... not Victorian, but still possibly 110 years of purgatory for us |

Last week at Wrexham he was superb against Moore... May not have won everything.... but with Moore that is impossible .... What I also liked about last week, in the first few minutes he clatters into Moore, pretty much saying you are in for a tough afternoon... I love that in a cenre backs.. perhaps though not as much as Mbengue does Think Morrison is a very good player. Strong, great positioning, and organiser, fast becoming the legendary "first name on the team sheet" If JCS comes back it will be him and Morrison, not JCS and Mebengue.... imo [Post edited 21 Sep 20:57]

Might be sooner... if he reaches double figures or near that.... he could be gone in January Like a lot on here.... im amazed we got him.... especially as I believe Leicester were after him.... If that is the case then hat's off to Nourry... for persuading him to come here. He is going to be top draw |

At the game in SA Road I thought he was off.... and if he was sent off I would have had no complaints.... Seeing that picture on the thread... I think he is very lucky... and it does look bad... |

Even how much I'm falling in love with Mbengue I think Edwards would be a better choice Would I spend 6 mil on Edwards... no... but have him on loan... yes |

Isn't it a lovely position to be watching the results come in after we have done our work... see Hull are tanking Southampton 3-0 and Edwards not even on the bench .. is he injured? If not what a waste of a player. . |

The lad in front of us was saying exactly the same thing... don't think Marti was getting the best out of him... I said on the fred... that he reminded me a lot of Don Masson today... always seemed to have time on the ball... and just glided over the pitch... also won quite a lot of headers in our box.. Thought he was MOTM first half... but I gave the game to Vale |
