Watching re-runs of 70's and 80's The Big Match on Saturday mornings I've noticed that YNWA was not exclusively a Liverpool anthem. Many a time various teams supporters are seen holding scarves aloft singing the Liverpool anthem. So any idea when YNWA became exclusive to the Scousers? Can't remember ever hearing it sung in the Loft. |
 | Forum Thread | One For The Oldies! at 10:24 7 Jun 2025
7 June 1970.The date of the greatest-alleged-goalkeeping save ever. The Mexico World Cup Group 3 match between England and Brazil. Midday kick off in the blazing heat of Guadalajara (7pm our time.) I remember as an 11 year old watching this with my old man on our black and white TV. A great game of football between two top sides settled by a second half goal set up with a pass from Pele and Jairzinho rifling home from just outside the box.. However, the match will always be remembered for THAT save by Gordon Banks from Pele's header. The greatest goalkeeping save ever? |
 | Forum Thread | Delusional Spurs Fans at 20:28 25 May 2025
I know some Spurs fans who still insist that they have had a better season than Arsenal because they have a trophy in the cabinet and will be playing Champions League football next season. Conveniently forgetting their team has lost 22 out of 38 league games. OK the season is over, but if one of the 3 relegated Prem teams had had a bit more about them and mustered up 39 points Spurs would not only be playing Champions League football next season but Championship football as well!!! To think Rangers finished 2nd back in '76 and 5th in '84 and for all that effort all we got was UEFA cup football. Different times agreed but it seems harder nowadays not to qualify for European football than it does for it. |
 | Forum Thread | WOW ! That was amazing. at 17:35 14 May 2025
Just gone on You Tube and for the first time in years I listened to the Pistols "Never Mind The Bollocks" album. Headphones turned up and WOW! how brilliant were those 11 tracks? For 35-40 minutes I was (cue for a song) seventeen again. Anyone else got an album that they've come back to after many a year and thought how fantastic it still sounds? |
 | Forum Thread | National League Conundrum ? at 11:13 29 Apr 2025
Looking at the final National League table the four relegated teams are Wealdstone,Maidenhead,Fylde and Ebbsfleet. From my understanding two of these relegated teams will play next season in National League North and two in national League South. Fylde are based in Lancashire so that's easy. However Wealdstone is in the London Borough of Harrow, Maidenhead and Ebbsfleet are in the county of Kent. So-unless I am missing the point- how can any of those 3 teams play in National League North come August? I realise Oxford City were dumped into NL North but could a team from a London borough be playing in that league next season? Any ideas? Thanks. |

Seen on the club website... "Football on a smaller scale comes to QPR" Judging by the front line on Saturday I thought it already had! |
 | Forum Thread | Rangers Ladies Team at 10:38 16 Nov 2024
I found George Sharps interview with Laura and Georgie most interesting. But, unless I missed something, I still couldn't work out how many promotions it would take for the Ranger's ladies team to make it to the WSL. Anyone know the answer? |
 | Forum Thread | Fantastic Support! at 15:53 21 Jul 2024
A pre-season friendly played in the middle of July and a crowd of 18439 turns up! The G tech boys at Kew Bridge couldn't match that even if they had to win their last home game to lay their hands on the Premier League trophy. As for the posh boys down by the river...well I can remember going down there in the late 80's early 90's and to speak to the nearest supporter you needed a mega phone. Rangers support has been fantastic considering what's been served up recently. Here's hoping the supporters are rewarded with a memorable season -for all the right reasons. It's certainly deserved. YOU RRR'S!!! |
 | Forum Thread | Rangers SInce 1966-67 Without Rodney. at 10:45 6 Jun 2024
It's said that one man doesn't make a team. OK on that basis how do you think the history of Rangers since 1966-67 would have panned out if we hadn't signed Rodney and been deprived of his 44 goals that season? Would we have achieved the same level of success that followed that amazing season? Or would we have ended up being say the West London version of Orient? I'm not pitching one against the other because both were fantastic player, but would we have had Stan play for us if Rod hadn't played for us first? I'd like to think that the club would have gone on to be successful and gained promotion to Division 1/Premier league. Yet success is relative and to me only being out of the top two tiers of English football for three seasons out of the last 57 for a club of our size is success. The club we have become stems from that 1966/67 campaign. |
 | Forum Thread | 9th May 1999-Simply the Best! at 09:13 9 May 2024
Who can forget that beautiful sunny day 25 years ago? Final match of the season and the R's on a 5 game losing run. Palace with nothing to play for so they could relax and enjoy themselves. A must win game in front of a full house of 18500. George Kulscar relieving the tension after 8 minutes and Chris Kiwomya adding a second on 43. Palace's Fan sent off after 48 and Rangers start looking like a cross between Real Madrid and Barcelona-sort of! The R's are 4-0 up by the time Palace are reduced to 9 men on 81 as Woozley sees red. Tim Breaker adds number 5 on 82 and Kiwomya completes his hat-trick on 85. At full time it's party time and the pitch is swamped with stunned yet jubilant R's fans. As it turns out this was a MUST WIN game as other results would gave meant a draw or defeat would have seen Rangers going through the trap-door. For me this result tops the thrashing of We All Love Leeds because of the poor run of form we were in and also because this was the last game.No follow up game to put things right. Yep Palace were there for the taking but everything that day was just perfect. Even the pints my old man and me supped later in the day seemed to be extra cold! |
 | Forum Thread | QPR Ladies' Team at 09:17 4 May 2024
Can anyone give me some idea of where in the ladies football pyramid Rangers are? They got thumped by Maidenhead on Thursday. Are they-the ladies team-playing in say the equivalent to League 2? National League? National League South ? Or lower? Anyone help? Thanks. |
